"At Bow-Cor Custom Welding, we thrive on pushing the boundaries of innovation, and our latest project with Leitner-Poma and Sunshine Village Ski Resort exemplifies our commitment to redefining what's possible. Tasked with the monumental challenge of aiding in the installation of a new chairlift line, we embarked on a journey to create something truly groundbreaking: a modular trailer designed to transport equipment 7,200 ft up the mountain to where the chairlift would be installed.
"This wasn't just any trailer; it was a feat of engineering ingenuity. Working closely with Sunshine Village, we conceptualized a semi-truck trailer that we transformed into a long deck snow trailer. This modular design allows the trailer to be easily equipped with snowcat tracks, making it ready to be towed on the snow by another snowcat. The innovative system facilitates a quick switch from wheels to tracks, enabling the trailer to traverse snowy, mountainous terrain with ease. When the need arises to move the trailer on the road or around the base area, the snowcat tracks can be removed to reveal the wheels underneath, showcasing its versatile and adaptable nature.
