Latest Spending Stats Show South Lake Tahoe Remains A Top Spot for UK Visitors

Latest visitation and spending stats from Lake Tahoe Visitor Authority show that UK visitors are now the fourth highest spenders in the popular US destination. The organisation's latest results also show that Ireland is the 22nd highest spender with an increase on spend by 44% YoY. As a result of the US dropping all Covid regulations earlier this year, this meant that visitation from the UK and Ireland has increased, making it a strong first half of the year for the destination.

  • The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority were presented with the prestigious Destiny Award by the U.S. Travel Association at the annual Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations (ESTO) conference for the destination marketing organization’s integrated “Awe and Then Some” marketing campaign (www.visitlaketahoe.com).
  • The ESTO Destiny Awards event in Savannah, Ga., recognized top-tier local and regional destination marketing work that represented imaginative executions that drove measurable growth. As part of a comprehensive research-driven renaming and rebranding initiative, “Awe and Then Some” was created by Noble Studios to assist the organization’s evolving move into the future.
  • $116,250 in donations from the American Century Golf Championship to help local non-profits over the coming year will make a difference in people’s lives. The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority invited local charitable organizations to apply for a portion of the funding which was part of the July 2023 celebrity golf tournament. American Century Investments, in partnership with the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and NBC Sports, is committing funds to area non-profits with priorities based on impact and need regarding youth, environment and community service.
