Klaus And Franz Dengg Families Are Tyrolean Tourism Pioneer Winners
The state of Tyrol has been honoring personalities and businesses from the tourism industry with the award since 2014. It is seen as recognition and appreciation of innovative thinkers who continue to promote Tyrol as a location for the benefit of Tyrolean tourism.
The brothers Klaus and Franz Dengg run family-run hotels in the Zillertal as well as in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena and are therefore employers for several hundred employees in summer and winter, most of which are employed all year round. At the same time, they are the owners of four mountain railway companies.
“Tourism is one of the central branches of the economy and also a major engine of prosperity in our country. The development of Tyrol into a top tourist destination in the Alps is not only due to the many traditional family businesses, but above all to innovative and determined personalities such as Klaus and Franz Dengg. For years they have played a key role in shaping our tourism landscape with their instinct for new developments and innovations as well as their passion to be hosts. Klaus and Franz Dengg are pioneers and forward thinkers, two brothers with great commitment to our country and an important local employer. I am therefore delighted to be able to award you and your families the 2020 Tourism Pioneer, ”emphasized LH Günther Platter when the award was presented in Ehrwald, which was only now due to the corona.
The brothers' businesses include the Hintertuxer Gletscherbahnen, the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn, the Ehrwalder Almbahn, the Finkenberger Almbahnen, the Eggalm Almbahnen, the Hotel Post in Lermoos, the Hotel Alpenhof in Tux and the Zugspitz Resort with the family hotel and deluxe camping in Ehrwald .
“It is impressive what Klaus and Franz Dengg have built up over the past few years. After initial skepticism, the Hintertux Glacier is now one of the few glacier establishments that are open all year round and the development in the Ehrwald and Lermoos area was also significantly advanced by the Dengg family's expansion and continuation of the Zugspitzbahn. It takes courage to make these investments and steps. Klaus and Franz Dengg have proven this, ”says LH Platter.
Klaus Dengg thanked him for the award: “Our ancestors paved the way for us, which we continued. We have both successful and difficult times behind us - but thanks to the solidarity within the family, we have always been able to continue on our path. It is always important to find a consensus together - that is the basis for running and developing a good company. ”
His brother Franz added:“ We would also like to thank the State of Tyrol for their support over the years. Special thanks go to our families, including children, and above all to the employees - none of this would be possible without them. "
