Eight out of ten people between the ages of 14 and 75 own a smartphone in Austria and Germany. In addition to communication, the organization and retrieval of information thanks to the Internet and specific apps are among the most frequently used functions. Mag. Anton Bodner, CEO of Bergbahn Kitzbühel, knows how important digital solutions are for ski guests. The free KitzSki app makes it easier to plan your journey and get your bearings in the ski area. “Our guests most frequently inquire about the current lift and slope status, the weather forecast and snow conditions, as well as about the mountain restaurants and huts. In addition, more and more lift tickets are being sold via the app because many guests want to save time waiting at the cash desks,” says Mag. Anton Bodner. The KitzSki app offers an excellent overview and is particularly popular with users. The app is also available offline, which is essential despite the many WiFi spots in the ski area.

Information from arrival to the feeder train

Mag. Christian Wörister, CEO of Bergbahn Kitzbühel, praises the implementation of the content that is presented in compact form in the KitzSki app. “Descriptive icons, a lean menu structure and attractive images help users find their way around the app very easily. The main information can be seen at a glance on the start page. The overview including route description to the parking lots in the area of our feeder lifts is particularly practical,” explains Mag. Christian Wörister.

The tracking function including localization is relevant for all those who want to conveniently document their day of skiing at KitzSki. In this way, the skiers can record the ski day precisely based on the number of kilometers of pistes and meters in altitude, and review it again in the evening with friends. This function is particularly helpful for better orientation in the ski area.
