Kerzner International Is Launching One&Only Moonlight Basin

Soaring high above the fragrant pines and sparkling peaks of Big Sky, One&Only Moonlight Basin glistens with off-piste glamour and the promise of stories, yet to be written.

One&Only Moonlight Basin is the first ever One&Only resort in the United States and the brand's first alpine resort. This luxurious year-round retreat is nestled in the mountains of Big Sky, Montana, and offers an unparalleled combination of rugged wilderness coupled with off-piste glamour.

Situated on the northwest side of Montana’s iconic Lone Mountain, One&Only Moonlight Basin is a setting that makes you feel truly alive. The vast 8,100-acre landscape features 360-degree mountain views, bordered by huge tracts of protected land in the Yellowstone National Park. One&Only Moonlight Basin is thoughtfully located within one of the region's most scenic and serene areas.

Big Sky Meadow lies in an alpine valley formed during the Cretaceous period. With a Native American history spanning 9,000 years and ranches dating back to the 1890s, Big Sky has transformed from a remote community to a coveted ski destination. From the launch of Big Sky Resort in the 1970s, to the establishment of Moonlight Basin in 2000, Big Sky continues to draw skiers and thrill-seekers to this pristine patch of Montana. The next chapter will be the opening of One&Only Moonlight Basin in Winter 2024/25.  

In the summer months, adventurers can enjoy horse riding, hiking in the nearby National Park and fly fishing to kayaking, golfing and mountain biking.

Once snowfall sets in from September, the resort is perfectly positioned for Big Sky’s winter activities, with ski-in ski-out access, a gondola connected directly to the summit, and 5,800 acres of world-class ski and snowboarding options.

73 guest rooms and suites in the main lodge combine with 19 guest cabins and an exclusive residential community of Private Homes featuring floor to ceiling glass walls, designed by Olson Kundig.

The resort will also offer forest-to-plate dining, a hidden moonshine whiskey shack in the woods, revitalising wellness, atmospheric roaring fires in each room, and uninterrupted mountain views.

From sipping barrel-aged cocktails in the bar against the backdrop of Lone Mountain or star-gazing in the resort observatory to relaxing on the private lakeside beach or taking to the soaring heights of Big Sky’s slopes, the offering for guests is limitless.
