Junior Worlds: Switzerland Wins Team Event On Home Ground

On Saturday, 3rd February, the fifth day of racing at the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships, Switzerland took victory in the Team Event in front of a cheering home crowd. The event took place in the evening under the lights at the Bolgen Plaza in the heart of Davos.

The Swiss team of Camille Rast, Aline Danioth, Semyel Bissig and Marco Odermatt dominated over the Norwegian squad of Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, Kaya Norbye, Joachim Jagge Lindstoel and Lucas Braathen in the final round. Bronze went to Austria as Julia Scheib, Franziska Gritsch, Fabio Gstrein and Simon Rueland were victorious over Italy’s team of Martina Peterlini, Lara della Mea, Alex Vinatzer and Giulio Zuccarini in a tight small final.

Team Canada, last year’s gold medallist, finished in 7th place.
