Improved Funding Available For Small Ski Areas In Vorarlberg
The cable car specialist group and the state of Vorarlberg will also provide funding of 100,000 euros in 2024 and 2025.
Small and micro ski areas, which are usually located close to metropolitan areas, are an important leisure activity for young people and families in these regions. They help bring young people onto the slopes. That's why the funding is available again for 2024 and 2025 on the initiative of the cable car specialist group. A total of 100,000 euros are available annually for maintenance measures and to maintain lift operations. Half of the amount comes from the cable car specialist group in the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, the other half comes from the state.
Ski areas with a maximum capacity of 10,000 people per hour can apply. What is new is that the funding applicants do not have to be in a so-called economically tense situation. Investments are eligible for funding to maintain the drag lift systems, which significantly improve economic efficiency and sustainably secure the existing building. Snowmaking systems are not funded.
Applications are submitted to the office of the Vorarlberg state government.
