Ikon Pass Resorts Opening For Summer
Deer Valley Resort, Utah
Starting June 26, Deer Valley Resort will offer lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic chairlift rides, outdoor dining at the Deer Valley Grocery~Café, Royal Street Café and the Silver Lake Snack Shack (with limited capacities and outdoor seating), accommodations at Deer Valley-managed lodging properties as well as shopping at the Main Street Signatures store. Summer operations are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT daily through Labor Day, September 7, then Saturdays and Sundays only through September 20.
Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, California
The Tahoe Via Ferrata at Squaw Valley is now open. Visitors can explore Squaw Valley’s most iconic rock face, The Tram Face, on the Via Ferrata routes operated by local guide service, Alpenglow Expeditions. They will learn to navigate the rock face on the protected climbing route with permanent steel anchors and cables that keep participants safely connected to the rock. The Village at Squaw Valley is open for mountainside lodging, dining and shopping.
Big Bear Mountain Resort, California
The summer 2020 season is underway at Big Bear Mountain Resort, with Bear Mountain Golf Course open and daily operations at Summit Bike Park in full swing. Visitors can also enjoy family-friendly activities in the Snow Summit base area like the Summit Mining Co. and Grizzly Ridge Tube Park, or experience panoramic views of Southern California’s highest peak – San Gorgonio Mountain (elev. 11,503’) – and the surrounding Big Bear Valley on a mile-long ascent through the San Bernardino National Forest on the Scenic Sky Chair. Lift and lunch packages are available for bike park and Scenic Sky Chair tickets.
Mammoth Mountain, California
The Sierra Star Golf Course is currently open daily and bike rentals are available on the weekends. Mammoth Bike Park and Scenic Gondola Rides will open daily for the season on June 26. Rentals and lessons are available daily at the Main Lodge. Rentals and lift tickets are also available daily at the Mountain Center in The Village. Camp High Sierra is currently open and taking reservations, and Mammoth Lodging Collection started taking reservations on June 19.
Crystal Mountain, Washington
Fresh off its reopening of spring skiing, Crystal Mountain began its summer season on June 19. Visitors can take a ride on the Mt. Rainier Gondola to admire expansive views of Mt. Rainier and the Cascade Range. For those who prefer to explore through hiking, Crystal Mountain offers a combination of both easy and difficult trails, with breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier and lush meadows filled with colorful wildflowers.
ROCKIES
Steamboat, Colorado
Steamboat Ski Resort will open with modified summer operations beginning June 26. The summer season will include the Outlaw Mountain Coaster, Maverick mini golf course, scenic gondola rides, the Steamboat Mercantile retail store, and dining on the Oasis Sun Deck in Thunderhead Lodge and in the base area at Timber & Torch Grill. Summer operations will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Fridays through Sundays ending on Labor Day, September 7. The Steamboat Grand Hotel is open and taking reservations.
Winter Park, Colorado
On June 27, Winter Park will open its scenic gondola and mountaintop hiking trails, the base-area putting course, various dining options, bike rentals and some retail. Also opening is the Trestle Bike Park, the U.S.’s premier full-service bike park. Tailored for both downhill gravity fanatics and all-mountain trail riders, Trestle Bike Park’s 1,800 vertical feet and more than 45 miles of purpose-built trails give adventurers of all levels an unmatched mountain experience. Lodging is currently open and booking summer stays. The destination will operate its modified summer offerings seven days a week through Labor Day. In September, the destination will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
CANADA
Tremblant, Québec
Tremblant will open its summer season with many outdoor activities including tennis, Le Diable Golf Course, hiking trails, the mini-golf Le Petit Géant and bike rentals. Many hotels will also open their doors starting June 26 with various discounts available. In the Village, visitors can enjoy an array of activities, boutiques, and restaurants offering take-out and indoors and outdoor seating.
Blue Mountain, Ontario
Blue Mountain’s extensive hiking trail network is currently open, along with Monterra Golf and bike rentals. Select shops and restaurants offer takeout and curbside pickup. Additional activities available to visitors include Apex Bagjump, Canopy Climb Net Adventure, Cascade Putting Course, Chutes and Lumber Ball Run, Climbing Wall, Mill Pond Activity Centre, Mountaintop Segway Tours, Open Air Gondola, Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster, Timber Challenge High Ropes, Wind Rider Triple Zips, and Woodlot Low Ropes.
EAST
Sugarbush Resort
The Sugarbush Resort Golf Club is currently open, with its Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed golf course open to any golfer living in a non-quarantine county across New England and New York. That means counties that have less than 400 active cases of COVID-19 per one million residents may enter the state for leisure travel without quarantining. The resort is also opening its Sugarbush Health and Recreation Center, with an outdoor pool, fitness center, and massage. Sugarbush is also planning to host its annual July 4th Fireworks Display, drive-in style, with socially distant parking spaces reserved in their parking lots, and all suggested donations benefiting the Mad River Valley Community Fund.
Stratton
The Stratton Mountain Golf Course, Downhill Bike Park, scenic gondola rides and the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center are all open for the summer season. Uphill foot traffic is allowed on the mountain, which means that visitors can explore Vermont with scores of hikes on the mountain and in the surrounding area including the .75 mile beginner route from the summit to the Stratton fire tower. Manned until 1979 and one of just a handful left in Vermont, the fire tower rewards hikers with a view that stretches clear across four states and mountain ranges. In the Stratton Village, select shops are open and restaurants are offering outdoor patio dining and to-go food with curbside pickup available.
Snowshoe
A modified schedule of activities and events is now available for the summer and fall seasons. The Raven Golf Club and the Raven Grille will be open weekly from Thursday-Sunday beginning June 18. The Snowshoe Bike Park will be open Thursday-Sunday starting July 2, with both the Basin and Western Territory areas open. Scenic lift rides to Shavers lake will be available Thursday-Sunday from 10am - 6pm ET starting July 2. The lake will be open for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, and dining at the Boathouse Restaurant. The Village will also be open Thursday-Sunday for dining, retail and outdoor adventure operations starting July 2. This includes the full-service Spa at Snowshoe. Lodging is currently available daily. Special events and festivals, including the Blues, Brews, & BBQ weekend, the Pedals & Pints Festival, and pro mountain biking races will be taking place throughout the summer and fall seasons.
