Ikon Pass Adds Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley For The 22/23 Winter Season

Three new iconic destinations, Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley in France, Sun Valley in Idaho and Snowbasin in Utah, plus two new pass options, 2 and 3-day Ikon Session Passes, join the Ikon Pass community for winter 22/23, offering more ways to play. Ikon Pass invites skiers and riders across the globe to start planning future adventures when the Ikon Pass goes on sale at its lowest pricing for the 22/23 season on Thursday 10 March 2022.

Members of the Ikon Pass community now have access to 50 iconic global mountain destinations in 10 countries across the Americas, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. With the new partner additions for 22/23, Ikon Pass now offers the most access to Utah with six destinations within 100 miles of each other, plus increased access in the Pacific and Northwest with five destinations, and now four premier destinations in the European Alps.

WHAT’S NEW for 22/23

  • Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley, France: Claiming its spot under the highest mountain in western Europe, Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley is a beloved and aspirational destination in the French Alps. Big mountain terrain meets the charming valley villages steeped with French charm, food, and high-alpine culture. Adventure seekers of all abilities can explore the five distinct areas within Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley – Grands Montets, Balme (Le Tour/Vallorcine), Brévent, Félgère, Les Houches.
  • Access: Ikon Pass holders will have access to seven days combined across the five mountains of Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days combined, with select blackout dates. Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley is not available on the Ikon Session Pass.
  • New 2 & 3-Day Products: Joining the Ikon Session Pass 4-Day, Ikon Pass now offers a 2 and 3-day option for skiers and riders looking for shorter trips to the mountains. The Ikon Session Pass offers access to 37 destinations with select blackout dates and benefits. Prices start at $249.
  • Access: Excludes Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, Alta Ski Area, Snowbird, Sun Valley, Snowbasin, Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley, Dolomiti Superski, Kitzbühel, Zermatt, Thredbo.
  • Sun Valley, Idaho: Steeped in more than 85 years of ski lore and legend, Sun Valley in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho is a premier mountain destination drawing visitors from around the world. With two mountains, 3,400 vertical feet, over 2,000 acres of terrain, and classic ski town charm, Sun Valley offers a big mountain experience paired with a long-standing heritage of excellence and guest service.
  • Access: Ikon Pass holders will have access to seven days at Sun Valley with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days, with select blackout dates, with the upgrade to the Ikon Base Plus Pass. Sun Valley is not available on the Ikon Session Pass. 
  • Snowbasin, Utah: Adding to Ikon Pass’s impressive list of destinations in Utah, Snowbasin in the Wasatch Range, just 45-minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, boasts 3,000 skiable acres, 3,000 vertical feet and played host to the 2002 Winter Olympics. Snowbasin is continually recognized as one of the best family resorts in North America as it is best known for wide-open bowls, gladed runs, manicured groomers, excellent service and ease of access.
  • Access: Ikon Pass holders will have access to seven days at Snowbasin with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days, with select blackout dates with the upgrade to the Ikon Base Plus Pass. Snowbasin is not available on the Ikon Session Pass.
  • Spot Insurance: In addition to pass insurance, Ikon Pass holders can now purchase additional injury coverage with Spot Insurance to cover eligible medical expenses for injuries that arise while using their pass, offering additional peace of mind.   • Access Changes: For winter 22/23, certain destinations have been added to the Ikon Base Plus Pass. For an additional $200 when purchasing an Ikon Base Pass, pass holders will get five day access at each: Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, Sun Valley and Snowbasin, plus five shared days between Alta-Snowbird. These destinations are not available on the Ikon Base Pass. (Blackouts apply, see below for more details.)

Renewal Discount

Renewal discounts are offered to 21/22 Ikon Pass holders for winter 22/23 if purchased before Thursday 21 April 2022, with savings of up to $100.

2022 Spring Access

  • Access available immediately upon purchase: Big Bear Mountain Resort, Stratton, Sugarbush Resort, Snowshoe, Blue Mountain
  • Access available starting 4 April 2022: Solitude Mountain Resort, Tremblant
  • Access available starting 11 April 2022: Mammoth Mountain, Palisades Tahoe, Winter Park
  • No 2022 Spring Access available on 22/23 Ikon Session Pass

Ikon Pass First Tracks
Members of the Ikon Pass community can unlock untouched powder and corduroy before the lifts open one designated morning per month in January, February and March 2023 at participating destinations during the 22/23 winter season. Ikon Pass First Tracks applies to the 22/23 Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, Ikon Base Plus Pass and Ikon Session Pass based on pass access.

Ikon Pass Travel

Ikon Pass Travel is an online travel planning service exclusively for members of the Ikon Pass community that offers the ability to seamlessly explore and book all aspects of adventure across Ikon Pass destinationsBrowse and compare airfare, hotels, and activities across Ikon Pass destinations to create a vacation package or be matched with an Ikon Pass Travel specialist.

Payment Plan

Child Pass Promotion

To provide additional value for families looking to ski and ride together, Ikon Pass holders can purchase up to two discounted Child Ikon Passes or Child Ikon Base Passes for children ages 5-12 with the purchase of an Adult Ikon Pass or Adult Ikon Base Pass. The Child Pass Promotion is limited and valid through 21 April 2022.

Adventure Assurance

Each Ikon Pass comes with Adventure Assurancea free pass holder benefit program that offers options to Ikon Pass holders that help provide flexibility and alleviate some uncertainty throughout the winter season.

Defer: Prior to 8 December 2022, should a 22/23 Ikon Pass holder not use their pass after purchase, for any reason, they may elect to defer and receive a full credit of their purchase price to be used toward the purchase of a 23/24 Ikon Pass. Unused passes will not automatically defer to next season, pass holders who decide to defer their 22/23 Ikon Pass must elect to defer their unused pass in My Account by8 December 2022.

Covid Closure Credits: If passes are used and there is an eligible COVID-19-related closure at any North American Ikon Pass destination from 17 December 2022 – 5 March 2023, Ikon Pass holders will receive a credit toward a 23/24 Ikon Pass based on the percentage of days closed.
