IF Forum And IOC Sustainability Session Staged In Lausanne
Under the theme ‘Open Doors and Open Minds’ the 12th edition of the International Federation Forum was staged the last three days in Lausanne (SUI).
The IF Forum has become a mainstay on the international sporting world calendar offering three days of targeted thematic sessions designed to be of specific value to the IFs in attendance.
This year’s theme was particularly timely as it gave IFs ideas and advice on implementing new technology in their daily business. Engaging Forums tackled topic such as 5G technology and its impact on live streaming, how eSports can fit into the traditional sporting culture.
The Forum heard from distinguished speakers including IOC President Thomas Bach. FIS plays an active role in the programme with Secretary General Sarah Lewis on the steering committee. Also in attendance on behalf of FIS was Marketing Director Juerg Capol and Event Director Stefan Huber.
The Forum wrapped up Wednesday at midday with the afternoon dedicated to the now traditional IOC Sustainability Session taking place for the fourth time. The content of this year’s programme included a closer look at what we can do to keep our oceans clean by minimising plastic waste and better carbon management at events.
The aim of the IF Forum and the IOC Sustainability Session is to provide an inspirational environment for IF Members to discuss key challenges as well as gain insights from sport and industry leaders.
