HTL Anichstrasse, Innsbruck: Students Develop Cable Car Model And Control System

Stefan Schrott and Elias Erhart, two impressive students from the HTBLVA Anichstraße Innsbruck, have recreated the Falginjochbahn as a model as part of their diploma thesis and developed a state-of-the-art control system for automated operation.

The Falginjochbahn in Kaunertal went into operation five years ago and served as an inspiring model. Its Funifor technology is particularly wind-stable and resource-saving, with an energy recovery system and an innovative design.

Stefan and Elias' model enables testing of various operating conditions that can be directly incorporated into real operations. Franz Wackernell, Managing Director of the Kaunertal Glacier Railway, praised the project when it was handed over: "The model can be used to simulate a wide variety of scenarios and gain new insights. Congratulations on the successful implementation!"

A big thank you goes to the project supervisor Dipl. Ing. Martin Neuhauser and Ing. Franz Wackernell from the Kaunertal Glacier Railway for supporting this groundbreaking project!
