Holiday Mountain: Progress On Installation Of New Quad Chair

Holiday Mountain is making progress on the installation of our new quad chairlift on Turkey Trot! This new 2800 ft long chairlift will be 30-40 feet to the right of the old 1968 Double Poma chairlift leaving the center clear for easier snowmaking and some great skiing (and alpine racing!).

The resort gives a big thanks to Dolomite Ski Area Service, NGS Construction LLC, Stevens Engineering, Partek Ski Lifts, Schmick Surveying, JJ Pavese for aerial drone topography and the Holiday Team for getting to great point.

They say "And a huge thank you to the Massanutten Resort for selling this quad chairlift. Without the help of other ski areas small mountains like Holiday would have a much more difficult time so we appreciate their willingness to help"

Holiday Mountain’s been the Southern Catskills skiing destination since 1957. Conveniently located just off New York State Route 17 at exit 107, less than two hours from New York City, Holiday is easily accessible for a day trip or an extended stay at endless hotels, inns and short-term rentals in the area. There's a wide variety of terrain, 100% snowmaking, lighting on all  trails & tubing slopes – we’re perfect for skiers and riders of all abilities.

Great things are underway at Holiday Mountain as we work hard to bring this great amenity up to it’s full “fun potential” under the new ownership / management of long-time local skiers & business owners, the Taylor Family.

Long-term plans include a total of 17 ski / snowboarding trails with the reopening of our long closed “northern lodge area” with its iconic chairlift visible from Route 17. They’ve done a tremendous amount of work in preparation of the 23-24 ski season including reopening of our closed #2 “Turkey Trot” chairlift, extensive drainage and erosion repair, all new snowmaking & lighting, new parking areas and updated grooming equipment.
