Hochfugen Will Be Offering High-quality Training Opportunities On FIS-Homologated Piste

From the 2024/25 winter season, the Hochfügen ski lift company in the Tyrolean Zillertal will be offering high-quality training opportunities on the FIS-homologated slope 8 with the new Racepoint Hochfügen - and already in late autumn. From November 1, 2024, athletes will have excellent conditions for slalom (SL) and giant slalom (GS) at an altitude of 1,500 m to 1,700 m.

The provision of training opportunities in Hochfügen before the official start of the winter season meets the clear need of national and international winter sports clubs, sports associations and athletes who strive for intensive preparation and precise material testing under real conditions - at friendly training altitudes, beyond the glacier areas or at far-away training locations.

Excellent training conditions

Piste 8 is exclusively accessible for racing training and offers a total length of 800m and a distance of around 200 meters in altitude with four terrain transitions. Thanks to safety nets, starting ramps and tower cannons including water connections, intensive and effective training is guaranteed. From 2025, additional snow farming will ensure optimal snow conditions .

Flexible training times and infrastructure

Three time slots (08:00-10:30, 10:30-13:00, 13:00-15:30) allow for flexible training. Up to 5 slalom lines (40-70 gates) or one giant slalom line per two slalom lines (approx. 30 gates) are available per slot. Watering is possible on request. With a short turnaround time from the car park to the lift entrance and extensive accommodation options nearby, the Tyrolean ski area of Hochfügen offers an ideal infrastructure for coaches, racers, clubs and teams. Race containers are available at the start and finish areas, and a camera system along the race course enables comprehensive video analysis.

Booking and prices

Bookings are made via the online training and race calendar on a first-come, first-served basis. Prices for lift tickets and line fees vary seasonally and according to training discipline. A three-hour lift ticket for the Pfaffenbühel III facility costs €23.00 for adults, €17.50 for young people and €11.50 for children. In addition, all season tickets, multiple and day ski passes are valid from the start of their respective validity.

Commitment to winter sports and economic stimulus

By introducing early training opportunities before the start of the regular season, the Hochfügen ski lift company is reaffirming its commitment to promoting winter sports. The expanded offering not only has a positive effect on professional athletes and ambitious amateurs, but also specifically strengthens the local economy outside of the main season.
