Historic successes for the Brienz Rothorn Bahn
The Brienz Rothorn Bahn is proud to have ended an exceptional season successfully and without any accidents. On Sunday, October 22, 2023, in beautiful autumn weather, the last trains steamed on the route between Brienz and Rothorn Kulm. This after a season that can be considered the best in its 130-year history. The Berghaus Rothorn Kulm is also recording record numbers.
With an impressive 268,714 frequencies, the BRB achieved an increase of 31 percent compared to the previous year. These numbers exceed the five-year average by 48 percent. Peter Flück, Chairman of the BRB Board of Directors, is pleased with the consistently high capacity utilization of the trains, which reached an average of 75 people per train. “It was only thanks to the great commitment of our employees that we were able to cope with the high demand and offer our guests a special mountain and railway experience,” says Peter Flück, paying the employees a huge compliment.
Excellent season also in the Berghaus
Impressive numbers were also achieved at Berghaus Rothorn Kulm. After the restaurant opened in June following a comprehensive renovation with the new “Marché concept”, the flow of guests could be better managed with fewer waiting times on peak days.
“We are very satisfied with our initial experiences and, thanks to the new catering concept, we can better meet the current needs of our guests.” says Peter Flück.
No statements can currently be made regarding the actual sales figures.
The BRB would like to thank all employees and guests for their support and looks forward to offering unforgettable experiences on the Brienzer Rothorn again next year.
