Groundbreaking For Mighty Argo Cable Car In Idaho Springs Goes Ahead

Colorado Governor Polis joined local officials for the groundbreaking of the Mighty Argo Cable Car in Idaho Springs, an exciting new tourist attraction in the mountains.

The Mighty Argo Cable Car Company, LLC (“ARGO”) has contracted with Leitner Poma of America (LPOA) to construct the Mighty Argo Cable Car (MACC) adjacent to the historic Argo Mill and Tunnel in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The MACC will travel 1.2 miles up Rosa Gulch, climbing 1300’ on the 10 minute ride. The mountain top Argo Landing will feature pedestrian plazas, viewing decks, an observation trestle, creative food and beverage options, an amphitheater and a facility that will be used for weddings, receptions, retreats and kids camps. A nature trail will traverse the mountain and lead to picnic areas with scenic views of four fourteeners.

“The Argo Mill is a living part of our Colorado heritage and with this revitalization effort, it will become a leading tourist destination in Clear Creek County that will drive economic development and bring jobs into the community, while elevating our proud history. This exciting effort, including the Mighty Argo Cable Car, opens up opportunities to everything from new outdoor recreation experiences, to live entertainment with the planned amphitheater, as well as new food and beverage for people to enjoy. This effort will also bring new housing opportunities for the workforce. I look forward to coming back to celebrate the grand opening,” said Governor Jared Polis.

The Mighty Argo Cable Car will take riders 1.2 miles from the Argo Mill up Rosa Gulch to the mountain top Argo Landing, which will feature pedestrian plazas, viewing decks, an observation trestle, creative food and beverage options, an amphitheater, and a facility that will be used for weddings, receptions, retreats, and kids camps.

The attraction will open by the end of 2025. To learn more about the plans for this expansion, visit mightyargo.com
