Greek Peak Mountain Resort Takes 18/19 Season By Storm - Resort Investments Exceed $1,500,000.00

Like March blizzards that hit our region in recent years, Greek Peak Mountain Resort plans to take the 18/19 season by storm. Ownership, along with the executive team, take an aggressive approach in leading and operating their two resorts (Greek Peak and Toggenburg Mountain) in Central New York.

Last year (2017), this team invested more than $1,000,000 in improvements. This year they continue investing in the resort to the tune of $1,500,000 in the ski area and lodging.

Improvements include:

• Relocate Welcome Center/Guest Services to Ticket Booth building: (approx. $5,500)
• We found that having two buildings servicing guests was causing guest confusion while navigating from parking, through ticketing, to on the snow. What has been "The Welcome Center" for 60 years will now become Administrative offices. Guest Services and Ticket Booth will be located together in the lower Katalima Building.
• Chair Lift Improvements: (approx. $180,000)
• Purchased a triple chair lift from Wyndham Mountain2018/19 Season will replace Chair 5's chairs – which have foot rests! (2019/20 Season will replace Chair 3's double with a triple chair lift).

Snowmaking Improvements: (approx. $231,667)

• Putting in new pipes on Odyssey and Upper Mars Hill
• Replaced 750 feet of snowmaking pipe
• Added 14 new HKD snow guns
• A new SMI Tower Fan
• New Guns – NYSERDA Matching Funds Grant: Purchasing 68 new, high efficient snowmaking guns through a NYSERDA. These guns will be installed on Upper Odyssey, Meadow, Platonic, Alpha and Mars Hill (approx $266,600)
• 2 Groomers: (approx. $600,000) a New Piston Bully 600 Groomer and a Park Machine
• With these improvements Greek Peak increased 1,000 gallons per minute of snow gun capability.

Tuning & Repair:

• P-Tex Machine: (approx. $43,225)
• High Performance Ski Rentals: (approx. $10,000)
• Rental Ski Poles: (approx. $9,000)
• Resort and Hill Uniforms and Vest: (approx. $45,000)

Lodge Improvements:

• Catering Equipment, Gazebo, Mountain Top Deck (approx $30,000)
• Conference Space Architectural Plans for Improvements (approx $6,500)
• Wedding Tent Venue, new flooring (approx $30,000)
• Cascades Indoor Waterpark LED Light Replacement Project (approx 35,000)
• Cascades Indoor Waterpark "Big Bear Activity Zone" (approx $45,000)

"In a time when NYS continues to increase operating expenses such as increased minimum wage, minimum salaries and other mandates which impact the bottom line, this is an aggressive approach putting it mildly", states Wesley Kryger, President of Greek Peak Mountain Resort.

Jessica Sloma, Vice President of Sales & Marketing is often asked if after ski season can she relax. The answer is always "no." Sloma goes on to explain that, "We are a four seasons resort, where our team of revenue drivers push every day to beat the previous day, week, year."

Greek Peak Mountain Resort, weather cooperating and permitting, is tentatively set to open the ski season November 24th.
