Graubunden Lift Co’s Slightly Above Previous Year's Level & 10% Above Five Year Average.

As of the end of February 2025, the number of guests on the Graubünden mountain railways is slightly above the previous year's level and 10 percent above the five-year average.

Positive February

In February 2025, the Graubünden lift co's recorded a 1% increase in guests compared to the previous year. Compared to the 5-year and 10-year averages, the number of guests in February is 3.7% and 6% higher respectively. A positive result when you consider that the previous year was a leap year (+1 day) and the 2024 sports holidays all fell in February. The fact that the 2025 sports holidays extend over 6 weeks is reflected in the consistently good occupancy of the snow sports areas and the lack of peak days, which has a positive effect on the quality of the snow sports experiences and is beneficial for guests and tourism service providers alike.

Pleasant Winter 2024/25

In the 2024/25 winter season (season start until the end of February), 1% more guests visited the Graubünden snow sports areas compared to the already good previous year. Compared to the 5-year and 10-year averages, the increase is 10% and 15% respectively. This development is very positive. The third best season of the last 20 years is shaping up. Lots of sun, snow at the right time and high demand for snow sports experiences have contributed to this positive development.

With confidence towards the end of the season

With the forecast of a sunny week and excellent snow sports conditions, the Graubünden mountain railways are looking forward with confidence to the end of the 2025 sports holidays and the development of the last third of the 2024/25 winter. While most of the smaller and medium-sized ski areas will end the season at the end of March/beginning of April, the larger and higher-altitude snow sports areas will be open until Easter. The period up to Easter will be marked by the Freestyle World Championships in the Upper Engadine and many traditional events, such as the Fuchstival in Grüsch, the Cover Festival in Davos, the Live is Life in Arosa Lenzerheide or the Spring Snow Festival in Ischgl-Samnaun.
