Goldener Hirsch Unveils New Partnerships Bringing Unique Experiences To Utah Skiers This Winter

Deer Valley’s newest luxury resort and residences, Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collection, and the revolutionary cold plunge company, Plunge, have partnered to bring winter sports enthusiasts from slopes to recovery & relaxation with a new après ski wellness program that will launch on January 1, 2023. Located steps away from the lifts at Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Village and in proximity to Park City’s numerous other ski resorts, Goldener Hirsch guests will now have complimentary access to the Plunge on the rooftop, which also features a heated pool, hot tub, sauna, and undisturbed mountain views. The rooftop recovery hub allows guests to alter their body temperature switching from hold-cold and vice versa, often called the Nordic Cycle. 

The partnership will also include various new après ski experiences that combine cold plunging with other mindful practices to maximize the healing effects: These experiences, which are available at an additional cost, will be led by highly qualified wellness practitioners and include:

• Inhalation, Exhalation: Beginning with 15 minutes of pranayama breathwork, guests will learn the mechanics of how to breathe properly while plunging. After a session in the icy bath, they will emerge to a special heart-warming Cacao ceremony with local Utah cacao: Maya Cacao. Integrate the experience with ceremonial cacao known to increase blood flow to the brain and heart, boost the immune system and keep you in that ‘plunge natural high’ by elevating levels of dopamine.
• Cardio to Plunge: This performance-based experience starts with a 4- to 6-minute warmup to increase blood flow to muscles before a HIIT circuit for a rejuvenating boost of energy. A 10-minute cool-down also serves as a lesson in the benefits of cold exposure before jumping into the tub. Guests will learn to allow breath to sedate the nervous system thereby allowing healing to overwhelm the body and mind.
• Hot to Cold: To transform your physical and mental body, this experience taps into the Nordic Cycle ritual. Begin in the rooftop sauna with guided breathwork and visualization before guests immerse their breathing techniques in the cold water. Arise with a renewed sense of energy.

Furthermore, the luxury resort has teamed up with world renowned skier, Ted Ligety, to offer guests the ultimate winter sport experience, Ski Day + Après with Olympian Ted Ligety, on January 14, 2023. Designed to enliven the senses, the bucket list day begins with a custom suit up with KJUS ski kit before spending a half day skiing. Ted will provide gold medal-worthy tips as you carve the slops at Deer Valley, known for its impeccably groomed pistes, ski valets and heated sidewalks, and then enjoy après together at The Restaurant at Goldener Hirsch.
