Gletscherbahnen Kaprun: Norbert Karlsbock Receives Medal Of Honor From The State Of Salzburg
Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG, based in the Zell am See-Kaprun region, is one of the most important tourism companies in the Salzburg region. This is not least thanks to the commitment of Ing. Norbert Karlsböck: as a board member, he helped write the success story of the Kaprun mountain railway company for 17 years and thus made a valuable contribution to Salzburg's economy. For this, he was awarded the Medal of Honor of the State of Salzburg by State Councilor Mag. Daniela Gutschi on the evening of September 20th during his retirement party at Kaprun Castle.
Important lighthouses
“When Governor Dr. When Wilfried Haslauer asked me to represent him at this event today, I immediately agreed, because with Norbert Karlsböck a man who has achieved incredible things is retiring. Kitzsteinhorn, 3K K-onnection, Tauern Spa and so on - these are all lighthouses that are known far beyond the borders of Kaprun, Pinzgau and Salzburg. This is of great importance for our state of Salzburg. How Norbert Karlsböck shaped this community and this region is unprecedented. We would like to thank you very much for this.”
Special milestones
The chairman of the supervisory board of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG, Mag. Rudolf Zrost, mentioned important milestones in Norbert Karlsböck's career in his speech: “33 years is a very long time. Norbert Karlsböck therefore knows the company better than anyone else. He started in 1990 as a member of the supervisory board, moved into operations as technical director in 2006 and was the sole director of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG from 2013. During this time, he created the key prerequisites for the company's current success - for example with the establishment of the Summit World 3000 as a year-round offering on the Kitzsteinhorn, the establishment of the unique partnership with the Hohe Tauern National Park and the commissioning of the Salzburg Institute for Ecology as ecological construction supervision.
