Giro Introduces Freeride Helmets For 2022/23 Season
Giro Sport Design, the manufacturer of performance snow helmets and goggles, has launched the Tor Spherical and Tenaya Spherical helmets available in Fall 2022.
“From dawn patrol missions to last chair, these helmets provide the perfect blend of features and protection that any serious rider demands,” said Giro Brand Manager, Josh Reid. “Our team of product designers and engineers spent many years developing the Tor and Tenaya with the insight of our core athletes and seasoned riders. As a result, the blend of comfort, performance, breathability, and protection is something we’re incredibly proud of with this helmet.”
Both helmets feature Giro’s Spherical Technology, powered by Mips Spherical Technology—a ball and socket system that allows two layers of impact-absorbing EPS foam to protect the brain from linear and rotational impact during high- and low-speed impact.
The helmets also offer breathability and airflow with thermostat control, and Stack Vent technology aligns with a rider’s goggle venting to keep lenses fog-free. A breathable Wikpro Grid Fleece fabric liner wicks moisture, and the Fidlock magnetic buckle closure offers pinch-free one-handed fastening. The latest earpad interface—compatible with aftermarket Giro audio systems by Outdoor Tech—allows riders to hear their surroundings without sacrificing warmth and comfort.
Tor Spherical is offered in Matte Black, Matte Graphite, Matte Harbor Blue, and Matte Trail Green. Tenaya Spherical is offered in Matte Black, Matte White, Matte Ano Harbor Blue, and Matte Black Tiger Lily.
Sizes include Small (52-55.5cm), Medium (55.5-59cm) and Large (59-62.5cm).
