Gasteiner Bergbahnen Preparing For The Future: Andreas Innerhofer Is The New Sole Director
The supervisory board of Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG decides on restructuring the board of directors and reorganizes the management team.
Sustainable tourism, digitalization and employer branding: These are the focus topics of Ing. Andreas Innerhofer, MSc, who has been the new sole director of Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG since October 1, 2023 . The 34-year-old has been working as a board member in Gasteiner Tal since July 1, 2022 and took over the position from Wolfgang Egger, who retired.
In March 2023, Innerhofer was appointed CEO of the AG. In the past, the board was divided into two areas, which Andreas Innerhofer will now be responsible for. The previous marketing director, Franz Schafflinger, did not extend his contract, which expired in September, at his own request. “In order to prepare Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG for the future, sustainability, digitalization and employer branding are at the top of our agenda. “In addition, we would also like to promote innovative product developments and sharpen Skigastein’s positioning,” says Andreas Innerhofer.
Andreas Innerhofer is considered a cable car specialist and has over a decade of industry experience. Before moving to Gastein, the Pinzgauer worked for Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel for eleven years. The trained electrical engineer deepened his technical expertise during his cable car career by studying mechatronics and mechanical engineering. He also completed a master's degree in ski area management and cable car technology as well as numerous industry-relevant specialist training while working.
Generational change on the board of Gasteiner Bergbahnen
The new sole board member particularly emphasizes the achievements of his predecessors: “Franz Schafflinger and Wolfgang Egger have had a decisive influence on the development of the Gastein mountain railways over the past decades and have implemented many milestones such as the new construction of the Schlossalmbahn. I would like to thank you very much for the smooth handover of the agendas. Based on their work and the numerous decisions made over the past year, we are convinced that we can continue the success of the Gasteiner Bergbahnen with the new management team.”
Restructuring at department manager level Andreas Innerhofer is primarily responsible for the areas of technology and sustainability. At the department manager level, he has gathered a competent team of 7 people who work with him to implement new projects and products.
“From the areas of cable cars and slopes to administration, finance and communication, we are broadly positioned with a lot of expertise and are ideally equipped for the further development of the Gastein mountain railways,” says the sole director, looking towards a promising future. As a result of the restructuring, there was a partial redistribution of tasks: Benjamin Rogl, who has been with the AG since 2012 and is head of administration, is primarily responsible for pricing & ticketing as well as the finance and controlling department. Markus Papai, who has been supporting Gasteiner Bergbahnen in marketing and communications since June 2023, will now also be responsible for sales and customer service. In addition, he is dedicated to positioning and product development within Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG.
