FW 21 Salomon Supplements Most Popular Lines With Additions To Each Range

Over the past three winter seasons, Salomon has unveiled a number of alpine ski franchises that have been universally praised by skiers and received countless awards in equipment tests across Europe and North America. From the on-piste collection, it’s been the S/Force and S/Race skis—along with the ultra-comfortable S/Pro boots—that have garnered the bulk of the attention.

For the 2021 - 2022 season, Salomon will supplement all of its most popular lines—S/Force skis, S/Pro boots, Stance skis and QST skis—with additions to each range that enable a wider range of skiers to benefit from their designs. In the on-piste category, the S/Force Ti.76 is a new 76 mm waist width ski that has been added to the S/Force range, complementing the 80 and 84 mm skis already in the line.

“The S/Force range, which we launched for the 2019-2020 winter season, has been extremely well received by resort skiers,” says Cyril Espalieu, Product Marketing Manager for Salomon’s Alpine Skis and Boots. “The edge grip and construction has been a big hit, especially the crossover tip that makes the Force range very versatile throughout the resort. Now we will deliver this ski technology in a narrower width for skiers who like a quicker ski from edge to edge.

To create the S/Force skis, Salomon relied on its racing know-how and it’s learnings from ski-cross, where the brand was an early pioneer. The result is a ski that performs like a race ski when you want to hold an edge, but also has a bold attitude to take on any in-bounds resort terrain, from bumpy runs two days after a storm to icy slopes orfresh groomers.

Like its predecessor (the XPro), the S/Pro boot was an instant hit with skiers, professional boot-fitters and ski publications when it was launched in the winter of 2019. Now the Select 120 boot, built on the same geometry as the S/Pro, makes this comfort and performance available to a wider range of skiers, even coming in a high-volume fit.

“The entire on-piste range for Fall/Winter 2021 reflects our efforts to add to the successful franchises we have across multiple alpine ski categories,” Espalieu adds. ”In the on-piste category we’ve tried to build on the momentum we have with the S/Force skis and S/Pro boots by making the technologies in those products available to more skiers in more offerings.”
