Freerider & Pro-climber Nadine Wallner Becomes ISPO Award Angel – Award-Winning Products & Big Winners At OutDoor By ISPO
Unique winners and a new ambassador: At OutDoor by ISPO (June 4 to 6 at the MOC – Event Center Messe München), the ISPO Award will once again showcase the most innovative products in the sports industry and surprise with a prominent personality news. At the MOC Munich, not only 34 current award winners will be presented, but also professional athlete Nadine Wallner as the new ISPO Award Angel.
The task of the new Award Angel: As ambassador and testimonial to make the probably most prestigious award in the sports industry even better known and thus further increase its importance for the participating brands. Nadine Wallner is a two-time winner of the Freeride World Tour and also an ambitious climber. She was the second woman ever to score on “Prinzip Hoffnung.” This is one of Europe's most famous trad routes–a difficult-to-secure test piece in difficulty grade 8b/+. As a certified ski and mountain guide, she is confronted with the importance of good equipment on a daily basis and brings years of experience with top equipment from her professional sports career.
High authenticity and expertise for the quality seal of the sports industry
“The ISPO Award is a seal of quality that is intended to provide orientation for the media, the industry and, above all, the end consumer, focusing on the innovative strength of the sports and outdoor industry,” says Christoph Beaufils, who is responsible for the ISPO Award together with Christina Rabl. “Nadine Wallner is known for never getting behind something she herself does not believe in. This high level of authenticity, her expertise as an exceptional athlete, and her very likeable manner help us a lot in presenting the innovations and outstanding products of the sports world to the world in an eye-catching way.”
“As an award angel for the ISPO Award, Nadine will be a convincing testimonial, especially to end consumers,” says Christina Rabl of the ISPO Group. “So who could stand for new products and innovations more credibly than her?” Soon the first videos produced for social media will be online with Nadine Wallner, in which she tries out ISPO Award products in practice with a twinkle in her eye and explains the award process. “We want to create videos that people remember and that have recognition value,” adds Rabl.
Trends and innovations: 34 award winners at OutDoor by ISPO
As a seal of quality awarded throughout the year (in four jury sessions), the ISPO Award is a fine trend barometer. This is proven by the winning products, which visitors to OutDoor by ISPO can see live at the ISPO Award Exhibition in the outdoor area of the MOC.
Specifically, visitors will experience 34 innovative solutions that are changing the oudoor world. Among them, more and more digital innovations such as Nordisk's NFC Customer Experience.
As a trend barometer, the ISPO Award shows, among other things, an exciting new manifestation of the ongoing camping boom. “We have never had so many submissions related to mobile living and travel as at our current jury meeting,” says Christina Rabl. “This showed that solutions are becoming increasingly flexible, customizable, and multifunctional,” adds Christoph Beaufils, citing the Trailhoppers Cape, which can be used as a rain cape, tent, hammock, and picnic blanket, as an example. The jury was also impressed by a 24-hour self-cooling cooler from Anker.

Award Gatherings and Public Choice Award as Highlights
The highlight for all those interested in innovative sports products will be the two ISPO Award Gatherings on June 4 and 5, both at 5 p.m. in the ISPO Award Exhibition. Award Angel Nadine Wallner will be present on both days. On June 4, the ISPO Award sustainability expert Louisa Smith will also be present and will be responsible for the “anti-greenwashing check” that precedes the jury meeting.
Important for the press: On June 5, the winner of the Public Choice Award will be announced. It will be chosen exclusively by the community of the ISPO Collaborators Club from all award winners. So it's the highly enthusiastic end customer who decides here—and exclusively only twice a year at ISPO's trade shows. So it's no wonder that the Public Choice Award, which is kept secret until the last second, is particularly coveted by all ISPO Award winners as an additional seal of quality.
Live broadcast on LinkedIn and Instagram
Those who cannot be there in person can at least participate in the events virtually: Both ISPO Award Gatherings will be broadcast live. On the one hand, on LinkedIn via the following links:
