FIS Safeguarding Course Goes Live Online


FIS has joined a project at UNICEF with other International Fedrations to develop an online Safeguarding Course. the course was officially launched on 5th July.

Safeguarding in Sport is a series of three online courses for everyone involved in sport. They have been designed to increase the understanding of safeguarding, why it is important, and how people can develop safeguarding in your their sports. Safeguarding is about everyone, and it applies to everyone, whatever people's role in sport.

The theme of the three courses are: Safeguarding Essentials, Safeguarding Practice, and Effective Safeguarding.

The content for the courses was originally developed through the support of FIFA and has been expanded to suit a more general sport audience.

In addition to FIS, the series of courses were developed with support from the Australian Government (Team Up), the Commonwealth Games Federation, the International Ice Hockey Federation, the International Platform on Sport and Development (sportanddev), the International Skating Union, the International Tennis Federation, World Athletics, World Rugby, and World Netball.
