FIS Highlights Development Programs supported By APEX2100
In collaboration with APEX2100, an international ski academy, FIS has successfully secured 12 spots for a selection process leading to a unique opportunity. During this process, U16 skiers (Year of Birth: 2008, 2009) will compete for two APEX2100 scholarships. The 12 candidates, consisting of 6 girls and 6 boys, will initially be chosen at FIS Children-approved competitions based on selection criteria communicated to FIS member National Ski Associations (NSAs).
The selected 6 girls and 6 boys will then participate in the final selection week at the APEX2100 facility from April 28th to May 4th, 2024. At the conclusion of this week, one girl and one boy will be awarded a one-year full scholarship at the APEX2100 International Ski Academy.
“We are proud to collaborate with FIS in supporting passionate athletes on their unique journey to the World Cup. APEX2100 combines international education with a worldwide training and racing program at the highest standards in a supportive social environment. We wish all U16 kids from around the globe a successful racing season,” stated Sascha Rearick, APEX2100 Alpine Performance Director.
“The excellent cooperation with APEX2100 in recent years has paved the way for these new opportunities for our U16 athletes. This is a tremendous motivation for the younger generations to stay engaged in Alpine skiing and enjoy this fantastic sport. We eagerly anticipate this season and the selection process, which will propel the best U16 athletes to the next step in their athletic pathway,” added Dimitrije Lazarovski, FIS Director for Development Programmes.
In addition to this scholarship program, FIS and APEX2100 have agreed to conduct two additional Alpine skiing coaches training sessions. One week will be dedicated to female coaches, and the second will include everyone, including Para Athletes coaches. Both coaching education sessions are scheduled for April 2024.
