What a weekend for around 400 fans of the TV series “Die Bergretter”, who have been there for 14 years will be broadcast in front of an audience of millions on ZDF: They met for the eleventh edition of the big “fan hike” in the Austrian community of Ramsau am Dachstein, where the majority of the successful series is filmed. In addition to visiting numerous original locations in the spectacular mountains of the Schladming-Dachstein region in the heart of Austria, the participants were offered a varied program with many highlights.
Happy rescues and romantic encounters, beautiful landscape shots and a fantastic mountain backdrop, as well as many feelings and emotions in the mountains - all of this is the focus of the series “The Mountain Rescuers”. More than 80 episodes have already been broadcast and the 15th season will soon be on the TV schedule.
The autumn fan hike to well-known filming locations has already become a tradition, enriched with a lot of action and, above all, very personal contact with the main actors of the series around Sebastian Ströbel, Luise Bähr and Robert Lohr. Leisurely hike, meet & greet and culinary delicacies On Friday morning, the loyal fans went on a leisurely - or, if desired, sporty - hike over the Kulmberg to the Biohotel Herold, where a hearty snack and, as a culinary highlight, a traditional Kaiserschmarrn from the giant pan the hungry series friends were waiting. Afterwards we went back to Ramsau Ort, where fans were able to take a look behind the scenes by visiting the original filming locations and the equipment. In the evening, some series friends met at the Bergretter fan get-together in the Waldschenke, where the day came to a rustic end.
Saturday began with a welcome to the actors and a hike to the Emilie farm, one of the main filming locations for the television series. There, fans were able to get autographs and enjoy their stay until late afternoon. The day came to a crowning conclusion with a colorful evening event in the Dachstein Event Center, which not only offered entertainment from the actors, but also an exquisite evening menu.
Sunday was all about the helicopter - in addition to the actors, it was also one of the “main actors” of the popular TV series. Some lucky fans had the opportunity to experience a spectacular sightseeing flight over the Schladming-Dachstein region with the "yellow bird", which was offered exclusively to participants in the Original Bergretter fan hike.
Mathias Schattleitner, managing director of the Schladming-Dachstein tourism region, is convinced that “The Mountain Rescuers” make a major contribution to the awareness of the Styrian holiday destination. “We are extremely grateful that such a TV series with such a high viewership is being filmed in our region. The magnificent images reach an audience of millions in front of TV screens in Germany, Austria and many other countries. And our events such as the fan hike create an even more intense bond with the viewers.
The loyal fans have the opportunity to experience numerous original locations and the feeling of the series live and up close. A big thank you goes to the actors, the production team and of course to the local people responsible for their great commitment to always giving the fans such an unforgettable weekend.”
The date for another big Bergretter fan event has already been set: On Friday, June 7th, 2024, the third edition of the “Bergretter Fan Day” will take place for all series lovers. Around 1,500 enthusiastic fans are expected back in Ramsau am Dachstein to see their stars live in action.
