Close finishes and dominating wins, victories by local heroes and international athletes, good weather and a great atmosphere, the first weekend of the FIS Roller Ski World Cup in Torsby (SWE) had it all.
This summer's FIS Rollerski World Cup and Swedish National Cup (STS Roll Cup) were designed as a mini-tour and started with a short prologue in free technique. Many spectators around the course made it a pleasant atmosphere in the village. On Saturday, the programme held mass start competitions in free technique in all four categories, junior and senior ladies and junior and senior men.The FIS Rollerski World Cup premiere and mini tour ended on Sunday with a classic technique pursuit up the legendary Hovfjället, a hill with the inclination of 390 meters during 7 kilometres of skiing.
