Exceptional Winter At Mont Sutton, More Than 6m Of Snow Received This Season

Sunday, April 20, marked the end of the 64th ski season at Mont SUTTON, with the 2024-2025 winter bringing more than 6 meters of snow to the summit between November and April! A dream season, full of wonderful surprises right up until the very end!

Snow in abundance

The last season, which lasted 120 days, received 460 cm of snow at the base and no less than 622 cm of snow at the summit since October 14. This Purely SUTTON microclimate made many people happy and allowed the mountain to open on December 7, to remain in action until Easter.

Mother Nature has blessed Mont Sutton with exceptional conditions all winter long, with 100% of the ski area accessible from the beginning of January. In addition, the first month of the year was completely magical, with 25 days of snowfall, which attracted a large number of visitors from all walks of life.

Growth in traffic

With numerous powder days, over $6M invested in the snowmaking system in recent years, the addition of groomers and the modernization of numerous pieces of equipment, the stage was well set to start the season strong and welcome skiers and snowboarders.

The 2024-2025 season will have seen its daily traffic almost double compared to last year. These results have been reflected across all departments with significant increases in consumption in the restaurant sector, including strong interest in its vegetarian and vegan offerings, as well as its delicious lunches, while the workshop has doubled its turnover and the Boutique Expérience SUTTON has seen a 25% increase in sales.

As the public rediscovered the joys of being outdoors, demand was impressive for low-cost, all-inclusive introductory packages and for Snowscoot and Yooner rentals. The snow school and rental center also performed well.

Bar Le Tucker has also seen its popularity grow further, with the new recurring schedule of après-ski DJ Saturdays, in addition to the classic Open Mic Thursdays and its 70¢ chicken wings (more than 25,000 units were sold during the season!), or its Music Fridays with live bands every week. The new Tacos & Touring Tuesdays activity, offered four times after the chairlift closes, has also quickly found a place in the hearts of people and will certainly become a local staple in the seasons to come.

In addition to the Tuesday 5:30 p.m. climbs, alpine hiking also benefited from a new guided service to introduce consumers to the trails of Mont Sutton. The activity was so popular that the product will be revised to cater to a wider clientele.

An already notable impact for the next season

This dream season is already snowballing, with pre-sales of 5- and 7-day unlimited passes for the 2025-2026 ski season already up 21% compared to the same period last year. We'll have to wait until pre-sales end on September 30th to calculate the full impact!

On the way to a new summer season

However, skiing isn't the only thing on sale in the mountains right now, and Mont SUTTON is actively preparing for its summer season! Mountain bike season passes are available at a 10% discount until April 30, as are Enduro add-ons, allowing for 2 or 4 daily lifts.

With mountain biking and disc golf starting their seasons on Saturday, May 17, the break will be short before the switch to summer mode. This summer again, enthusiasts will be able to hit more than 47 kilometers of cross-country, trail, and enduro mountain biking trails, developed and maintained by Plein air Sutton / MTB. Several new features will be on the program in this area.

The rustic campsite at the summit will open its season on Saturday, May 31st, allowing everyone to reconnect with the region's incredible panoramas. Reservations will open very soon for the 21 sites and two shelters, which are always in high demand! The chairlift ride (and bike ride), the giant zip line, and the twisting zip line will be available starting Saturday, June 21st.

Details and events for the summer season will be announced shortly. In the meantime, it's a good idea to subscribe to the newsletter to stay up-to-date on upcoming developments at montsutton.com/infolettre .
