Endeavour Awards Return To The Brits

A truly exciting competition launched at The Brits last year will return to Laax next week following its highly successful introduction to the event programme.

As an extension of the thriving Championship Ski & Snowboard League, CSS at The Brits was born in 2017 with the best up and coming skiers and snowboarders vying for the Endeavour Awards and some handy cash prizes.

The Endeavour Awards are sponsored by long-time UK snowsports supporters Delancey, with the real estate investment company keen to bring the CSS concept out to the Alps and give young riders another high-profile opportunity to show their progression and be rewarded for their development.

During practice, qualification and finals of the Picture Organic Clothing Big Air Competitions, all under 18 skiers and snowboarders will be filmed, with a dedicated panel of experienced judges – including head coaches from GB Park & Pipe, Hamish McKnight and Pat Sharples – rewarding the top two tricks in each competition.

The following criteria will be followed by the CSS at the BRITS judging panel:

• Difficulty: the technical difficulty of the trick, including rotation, direction, axis, grab, risk, and progression
• Execution: how well performed the trick was
• Amplitude: how big the trick was, including height as well as distance down the landing
• Landing: how clean, stable, and controlled the landing was

Separate competitions will be run for males and females in both Ski and Snowboard Big Air with a £500 cheque for the winners and £250 for second place. The Picture Ski Big Air takes place on Tuesday 3 April followed by Picture Snowboard Big Air on Wednesday 4 April.
