DPS Skis’ Pagoda Tour, Koala Collections Earn Editors’ Choice Awards
DPS Skis, the U.S.-based ski manufacturer pairing space-age carbon technology with groundbreaking shapes, is proud to announce that its new Pagoda Tour and Koala collections have earned editorial awards from leading publications Backcountry Magazine and Freeskier Magazine. Both collections are available today at www.dpsskis.com or at your local DPS dealer.
“Receiving Editors’ Choice awards from titles like Backcountry and Freeskier is important validation for our design team, as well as our manufacturing team in Salt Lake City and our athletes and other product development partners,” says DPS VP of Product and Operations Thomas Laakso. “Receiving recognition for collections as diverse as Pagoda Tour and Koala reflects the breadth of our offering for Winter 2021/22 and we are honored to be selected among the top manufacturers in the ski industry.”
The Pagoda Tour 100 RP has earned Backcountry’s Editors’ Choice Award for 2022. Additionally, Backcountry has recognized the Pagoda Tour 106 C2 and Pagoda Tour 112 RP as Editors’ Selects. The Pagoda Tour 106 C2 has also earned Freeskier’s Editors’ Pick Award for 2022.
The best-selling Pagoda Tour features a unique construction, which blends a proprietary carbon laminate with a combination of ash and paulownia woods and a purpose-built aerospace-grade foam to produce a distinct combination of power, energy and dampness. The Pagoda Tour 100 RP is playful, floaty and boasts a unique rocker profile, making it perfect for a full range of backcountry conditions. The Pagoda Tour 106 C2 is versatile with its rockered tip and elongated edge contact, making it one of the most adaptable shapes in the DPS quiver. The Pagoda Tour 112 RP is lightweight, fast and floaty, making it ideal for ample laps on a powder day.
The Koala 103 and Koala 118 have been recognized with Freeskier’s Editors’ Pick Award for 2022.
The Koala collection is made using the Foundation construction, which uniquely blends fiberglass with bamboo and a wood core and carbon stringers for increased stiffness. The result is the perfect blend of power, dampness, and durability, making the ski ideal for a wide range of skier profiles. The Koala 103 is playful in the air and stable on the landings, allowing skiers to focus on making the entire mountain a personal park. The Koala 118 is a freestyle ski for powder days with the ideal turning radius, deep rocker lines and a progressive flex pattern, setting skiers up for as many hits as possible on a powder day.
