Designer And Star Chef - Patricia Urquiola And Andreas Caminada Bring Their Visions To Andermatt
Unique, unmistakable and cosmopolitan - Patricia Urquiola, world-renowned designer and architect, and star chef Andreas Caminada bring their shared vision to Andermatt Reuss. The new Maya House is a combination of style and flavour.
Patricia Urquiola is visionary and has been honoured with awards including "Designer of the Decade" by the two magazines Home and Häuser and “Designer of the Year” by Wallpaper, Ad Spain, Elle Decor International and Architektur und Wohnen Magazine. Her style is unmistakable and characterised by contemporary minimalism. She combines textures with colours and patterns and adds sophisticated lighting effects to create a unique atmosphere in the rooms. Her collaboration with the celebrated Michelin-starred chef Andreas Caminada has proven successful. All IGNIV restaurants at home and abroad were designed together with Urquiola. Caminada has three Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points. He believes that food should be shared, even in high-end gastronomy. IGNIV is Rhaeto-Romanic and means nest. The creative dishes are meant to be shared with friends and family and thus offer an exceptional culinary experience. IGNIV restaurants can be found in Bad Ragaz, Zurich and Bangkok, and from December also in Andermatt, on the groundfloor of house Maya.
Maya, a collection of 17 residences and penthouses
14 residences and 3 penthouses are being built in house Maya. Each apartment is between 105m2 and 138m2 in size. The fireplace in the living room is embedded in a wall of green Salvan stone. The oak cupboards and herringbone parquet floors provide a natural warmth. The rooms are flooded with light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and loggias. Urquiola gave them her characterful signature style, from splashes of colour to bespoke and curated furniture.
A pre-launch of the apartments starts today. The house Maya will be ready for handover and opening of the IGNIV restaurant at the end of December 2024.
