Demaclenko - 1,000th Snowmaker Officially Transferred To Piz Sella
At the beginning of the new winter season, down at the Emilio Comici hut the 1,000th snowmaker produced in the 2019 production year of DEMACLENKO was ceremonially handed over to the ski area of Piz de Sella. As a sign of the long-standing partnership, the Ventus 4.0 (with special branding) would immediately become used in the ski resort; as part of the sophisticated DEMACLENKO snowmaking system it will ensure optimal snow conditions on the pistes.
The 1,000th manufactured snow gun in the production year: every year it represents an important mark which is always crossed in DEMACLENKO workshops even in summer. It is not just an important milestone for the entire DEMACLENKO team, but also an indicative of the partnership and of the appreciation for ski resorts which continuously trust in the leading products of the technology leader DEMACLENKO. Just in time for the start of the new winter season, it was time for the custom-made product – a Ventus 4.0 fan gun – to serve its purpose. In 2019, the snowmaker, with its exclusive customer branding, went to the ski area of Piz de Sella, where it was received by its managing director Igor Marzola at the Emilio Comici hut in Val Gardena.
"I am very pleased that we could come together in the Piz Sella ski resort on this special occasion, and we are honored that this particular snowmaker has immediately become used on our pistes", emphasised Igor Marzola. The Ventus 4.0, with its trend-setting Pininfarina design, is renowned in the snowmaking market for its excellent snow quality and its unbeatable ratio between consumption and production volume. It has won its peers over with a snow production rate of 90 m3/h with a power consumption of only 20 kilowatts. In the Piz Sella resort the concentrated expertise of the LEITNER Group is also evident: in addition to DEMACLENKO, the products of sister companies LEITNER ropeways (cable railways) and PRINOTH (snow groomers) are also in use – and they also have their individual customer branding.

This transfer also represents a token of gratitude to all our partner ski resorts that have worked with us and trusted our brand for many years."
The Piz de Sella ski resort has a sophisticated DEMACLENKO snowmaking system which has been continually modernized and expanded over the years. The resort uses a total of 128 snowmakers. The heart of the system is a 2.7 MW pumping station which includes a water cooling system, which conveys 345 liters of water per second. The finishing touch for a fully automatic snowmaking solution provides DEMACLENKO's Snowvisual 4.0, with cost-saving resources management.
DEMACLENKO produces more than 2,000 snowmakers every year. This considerable number can also be confirmed in 2019, despite the fact that, in the beginning of autumn, the company moved from its former headquarters in Klausen to its new headquarters in Sterzing. "The move to Sterzing went smoothly as production continued. We succeeded in keeping production going and, in parallel, organizing the transfer of the departments", Andreas Dorfmann has remarked elatedly. The new headquarters in Sterzing is located directly next to LEITNER ropeways and PRINOTH, and it is the cornerstone for new growth and additional leading innovations in the snowmaking industry.
