Delaine & Co. Launches Domestically Sourced Merino Wool For S22 Ski Sweaters
For Spring 2022, Delaine & Co. will introduce Americana style Merino wool ski sweaters for men and women, featuring domestically sourced yarns in bold colors.
When Delaine Founder Scott MacKenzie’s vintage wool ski sweater sparked an exchange at a chairlift in March 2020, it was a lightbulb moment for the entrepreneur. His parents gave him the sweater in 1976, and it continues to outperform synthetic mid-layers.
“There’s no better mid-layer than a tightly knit, fine merino wool sweater, and in the kind of sunny spring conditions we’re about to be seeing, these sweaters are great as outerwear over a good baselayer,” said MacKenzie.
Delaine sweaters are manufactured in the U.S., from 21-micron merino wool from Climate Beneficial verified wool. Each wool garment made from Climate Beneficial fibers contributes to a rigorous climate-positive land stewardship program in the U.S.
“First and foremost, we wanted to make the perfect downhill ski mid-layer for skiers by skiers,” said MacKenzie. “And it’s easy to feel good about doing that when we’re doing it with high-quality sourcing and manufacturing here in the U.S.”
For winter 2022, Delaine offers four styles for women and three for men, each in two colorways.
“We want to make it very easy for customers to work with us, and we respect their inbox,” said MacKenzie. “We offer free shipping, free returns, help with sizing, no pop-ups on the website, and don’t badger customers every week with a sale or promotion.”
