Deer Valley Resort Opens For Summer Operations June 18
Deer Valley Resort welcomes guests back to the mountains for a summer season full of outdoor activities. Summer chairlift operations are scheduled to run daily from June 18 through September 6 and then for three additional long weekends, Friday-Sunday, through September 26, 2021. (Weather and conditions permitting.)
A wide range of on-mountain offerings include lift-served mountain biking, scenic lift rides, guided historical hikes and yoga experiences, standup paddle boarding, al fresco dining, and live outdoor concerts at Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater.

Mountain Biking
Nearly 70 miles of mountain bike trails sprawl across six mountains, including four flow trails designed by Gravity Logic. Three convenient chairlifts provide riders access to Deer Valley’s world-class terrain and unforgettable vistas. Chairlifts will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, June 18 - September 6, then three additional weekends (Friday – Sunday) through September 26, 2021, weather and conditions permitting. Bike season passes are available for a reduced rate of $400 this summer, giving mountain bikers a world-class experience at an incredible value.
For the after work or sunset loving mountain bikers looking to maximize every minute of summer’s daylight, Twilight Tuesdays return this summer. Chairlifts will run for extended evening hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on the following Tuesday evenings: June 22, 29; July 6, 13, 20 and 27; and August 3, 10 and 17. All Deer Valley summer operations at both Snow Park and Silver Lake Lodges will stay open for the extended Twilight Rides, including private mountain bike lessons if reserved in advance.
Deer Valley offers a large fleet of high-quality, full-suspension mountain bikes for rent. Guests can also rent or purchase all the accessories they will need on-site for a thrilling ride.
Deer Valley’s Mountain Bike School offers passionate and knowledgeable mountain bike coaches to help guests navigate Deer Valley’s thrilling trails and teach the proper downhill biking techniques. Private lessons and group clinics are available for adults and children of all abilities. Reservations are available by calling 435-645-6648.
Scenic Chairlift Rides and Hiking
Scenic, round-trip chairlift rides are available on Silver Lake Express from the base and riders can then board Sterling Express at mid-mountain to access Bald Mountain. At the top, guests can stretch their legs, take in the panoramic views, and explore one of the many hiking trails that wander through Deer Valley or simply enjoy the fresh, alpine air at the top before re-boarding the chairlift for the ride back down.
Deer Valley offers miles of hiking-only trails that are ready to be explored. Those hiking up the mountain can enjoy a complimentary chairlift ride down. Please be aware that good hiking shoes are recommended.
For a deeper appreciation of the landscape, guests can immerse themselves in Deer Valley’s rich mining history on a three- to four-hour guided historical hike. These hikes cover moderately strenuous terrain, are typically less than six miles, and highlight the area’s silver mining history. The hikes are available once monthly, on June 20, July 25, August 15, and September 19. Reservations are required and a $10 fee applies. Group size is limited to 20 participants.
Guests can also explore local trails, learn about the history of the area, and learn about the native flora during a private guided hiking tour with one of Deer Valley’s knowledge guides. Private guided hikes are available on Wednesday afternoons at 2 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Private guided hikes are $100 for up to four hikers and $25 per additional person, with a two-hour minimum.
New this year, Hike and Yoga combine the exhilaration of a two- to three-hour, moderate guided hike along with the rejuvenation of a one-hour, gentle yoga class in one of our on-mountain lodges. Learn about the history of the area and familiarize yourself with the native flora with our knowledgeable hiking guides, then relax and reconnect with your body, mind, and nature with our certified yoga teacher. Hike and Yoga will be held on June 19, July 17, August 21, and September 18 at 10 a.m. The cost is $95 per person; there is a minimum of four guests and a maximum of 20 guests for this experience.

Standup Paddle Boarding
Visit Pebble Beach at Deer Valley, just steps away from Deer Valley Grocery~Café, for a boat-free, waveless SUP experience. People of all abilities will enjoy the sandy beach and calm waters for paddle boarding and kayaking, along with daily paddle board yoga and fitness classes offered by Park City SUP. Daily rentals of inflatable SUPs, as well as One Wheel electric board rentals, lessons and tours are also available. Classes, board rentals, lessons, demos, birthday parties, corporate events, and equipment sales are offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pebble Beach, June 1 through August 31, and then weekends as weather permits in September. Park City SUP offers daily yoga and fitness classes at 10 a.m. The cost is $20 per class and includes the use of a board and paddle and pre- and post-class paddles around Osprey Island. Concerts in the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater
Deer Valley Resort, in cooperation with concert promoters, is currently planning all three summer concert series; the Deer Valley Concert Series, Utah Symphony’s Deer Valley Music Festival, and the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series. Deer Valley and the concert promoters are working with local and state entities on the ever-changing landscape of hosting mass gatherings due to COVID-19. Please expect operational impacts and venue capacity restrictions at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Gourmet Picnic Bags with child-friendly selections, along with gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian meals are available to reserve from Deer Valley’s world-class kitchens. Deer Valley Etc. will also be open as a concession stand on concert nights for grab-and-go food items and drinks.
Dining
From casual, grab-and-go cafés, to elegantly rustic restaurants, Deer Valley’s food scene satisfies every palate. New additions this summer include Royal Street Express and Snowshoe Tommy’s, offering easy grab-and-go menu items throughout the day and the Goldener Hirsch “Friday Afternoon Club” featuring Traeger Grills and Alpine Distilling for an outdoor series of culinary experiences paired with local libations.
- Guests visiting mid-mountain can dine in at Royal Street Café for lunch or order carry-out from the new Express option. Royal Street Express will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 18 through September 6 and Friday-Sunday through September 26, and will be open until 8 p.m. on Twilight Tuesdays. Royal Street Café will offer sit-down dining from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from June 18 through September 6.
- The cozy Snowshoe Tommy’s cabin, perched at the top of the Sterling Express chairlift on Bald Mountain, will offer light snacks, cold drinks and beer from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily beginning July 2.
- Open daily year-round, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Deer Valley Grocery~Café offers gourmet grocery items, house-prepared take-away entrées, soups, salads, and sandwiches to enjoy on their expansive deck overlooking the ponds near the resort’s Snow Park base area.
- Convenient carry-out options can also be found at Deer Valley Etc. at Snow Park Lodge, which will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 18 through September 6.
- The Brass Tag, inside the Lodges at Deer Valley, offers a dinner menu with Italian specialties including hearty lasagna, ravioli, gnocchi, brick-oven pizza and more, available for dine-in or carry-out. The Brass Tag will be open Thursday through Monday evenings beginning on June 18, 2021.
- Breakfast and lunch options will be available daily at the Goldener Hirsch Café, and upscale Alpine cuisine will be served for dinner at the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant, Thursday through Sundays. The Goldener Hirsch Café will open on May 28 and the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant will open on June 18 for the summer season. The Goldener Hirsch, Traeger Grills and Alpine Distilling have partnered to create a series of culinary experiences paired with local libations. The “Friday Afternoon Club” will take place weekly from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Goldener Hirsch Bridge from June 25 through September 3, featuring live music.
