Deer Valley Opens New Burns Express Lift
Deer Valley Resort unveiled the new Burns Express chairlift at the base of Snow Park Lodge with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
The addition of the Burns Express chairlift offers another way for skiers to move out of the base area, as well as broadening terrain options for beginner and learning skiers by providing direct access to some of the more novice runs on Deer Valley’s Little Baldy Mountain.
Burns Express chairlift is the last piece of a $6 million capital investment in Deer Valley’s learning area for the 2022-2023 ski season. The project also included refurbishing and extending the Snowflake chairlift, adding 60,000 cubic yards of dirt to regrade and widen both Wide West and Gnat’s Eye ski runs and reconfiguring the surface lifts to stretch from bottom to top of the beginner area.
“The overall redesign of Deer Valley’s Wide West beginner area has greatly improved the experience for both the skiing public as well as students in Ski School,” said Rob Sogard, VP of Skier Services. “Now, when skiers are ready to advance from the learning area, Burns Express will provide a smoother transition to some of the easiest green runs on the mountain.”
