Dash Longe And DPS Skis Sign Deal. Celebrated Freeskier Inks Athlete + Product Design Contract

DPS, makers of the world’s most advanced skis, and celebrated freeskier Dash Longe are proud to announce a multi-year partnership. Well-known for his smooth style, big airs and effortless on-snow creativity, Longe will lend his vision to help direct DPS’ new athlete-inspired Koala ski as well as his extensive background in ski film production to add a new cog to DPS’ content machine. Longe joins DPS’ existing roster of celebrated Koalas – including Piers Solomon, Santi Guzman, Olof Larsson and Zack Giffin – who have graced the frames of DPS’ award-winning Cinematic film series over the years.

In addition to the major role Longe has played in Teton Gravity Research, Eric Iberg and Warren Miller movies over the last 20 years, he has continually been amongst the pack of freeskiing’s most honored professionals. In addition to earning top five finishes in the sport’s most prestigious contest – Red Bull Cold Rush – in both 2010 and 2012, Longe has secured multiple Powder Magazine Video Award nominations, including “Top Male Performance” and “Best Powder Segment.”

“Over the past 20 years I’ve learned that the biggest breakthroughs in ski technology happen when the pioneers of the sport work closely with the engineers and product developers. My dream has been to collaborate on a ski from ideation through final iteration, allowing the marketing strategies and materials to surface naturally through the purity of the creative process.” said Longe. “Working with a local Salt Lake-based brand that has, in many ways, set the curve will give me the ability to express ideas creatively during the entire development process, not just when I ride the skis. Everything we do will have purpose and be a part of the story that’s told when a skier peels back the plastic and begins to form a relationship with their new skis.”

This winter Dash plans to focus on reconnecting with the mountains and people closest to him in his home range of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains while working directly with DPS product developers and other members of the team to positively impact how those products end up under the feet of powder hounds around the globe.

"Having a skier of Dash's pedigree working with local filmers will allow us to celebrate the magic we have in our backyard mountains," said Dan Benshoff, executive producer for DPS Cinematic.

By partnering with DPS and the brand’s rootsy Koala athlete team, Longe’s drive for creative expression through product design, marketing strategy and film production will take a new shape. Wasting no time, Dash has already been part of several development meetings, sharing valuable feedback in an early season on-snow testing environment.
