Danish Eyewear Brand MessyWeekend’s Snowsport Goggles Garnering Attention
Since 2018 MESSYWEEKEND has been developing and selling high quality eyewear at a fair price point. They are more than just affordable eyewear. In an effort to reduce their impact on the environment they have also partnered with Danish organisations to help rid the oceans of plastic for every purchase. They do not do trends, they work only in culture.
Upcoming collabs include the likes of Logan Paul, Kronenbourg 1664, Morten Breum and Mads Norgaard.
Their passion projects reflect both the company and individuals. They started MessySnow because they don't just sell snow goggles, they use them, too. They sponsered a CPH Open Snow '19, where some of the best of the best turned out for a day on the slopes. And they got two expert skiers to help make some hilarious yet informative ski tutorials, which you can find on their YouTube channel.
MESSYWEEKEND are an eyewear brand born and designed in Copenhagen, built on the foundations of skate, surf, snow and music. The brand is breaking down the barriers between aspiration and access, creating a collection that is both the product of ambition and accessibility.
The collection features their viral magnetic ski and snow goggles with either high-contrast XE2 lenses or their top rated photochromic XEp lens. AW22’s three new styles Clear, Flip and Ferdi feature anti-fog and anti-scratch coating with 100% UV400 protection and magnetic lens change. The XE2 lens is developed with a High-Contrast technology, which ensures optical clarity that enhances all contrasts in the landscape. This means that you can easily avoid bumps and ice.
The magnetic lens attachment technology means that you can swap the lenses over in a matter of seconds. Each style is lightweight and offers an over the glasses fit, adaptable for most helmets. Each style comes in comes in Army, Light Grey and Black frames with a Silver, Matte Black and Revo lens and all variants include a yellow overcast lens.
The styles are also available with XEp lens with photochromic technology allows the lens to automatically adjust to switching weather conditions.
The XEp lenses contain special patented photochromic dyes that cause the lens to automatically darken when exposed to UV rays in sunlight. When the UV light decreases, the lenses fade back. As light conditions change, the level of tint adjusts, constantly offering the right tint.
MESSY WEEKEND has also partnered with ReSea Project, Plastic Change and the 4ThePlanet in the fight against the ocean plastic crisis. For every pair of sunglasses or goggles sold, they’ll contribute part of their revenue to facilitate the clean-up of the equivalent of 4 plastic bottles from our Ocean.
So far MESSYWEEKEND have helped to remove over 230 tons of ocean plastic.

They say:
"We are part of the hungry generation. We live, we learn, we continue to grow. We understand that customers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and are now well informed. Our eyewear is all designed in Copenhagen by a young, authentic, international team that has a strong opinion about fashion.
"We are breaking down the barriers between aspiration and access, redefining the value for this and future generations. Our products highlight Scandinavian minimalism, backed by our commitment to design and quality.
"From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to do something to give back to our global community. That's why we partner up with two NGOs to clean our oceans. For every pair of MessyWeekend's eyewear or goggles sold, we donate to clean the equivalent of 100 plastic straws out of our oceans.
"What's a weekend without good music? Whether you're hanging out on the beach, chillin' at home, or partying with friends, music is a must.
"MessyMusic was started as a way for us to collaborate with cool Danish bands from around the country, including Farveblind, Boundries, and Turquoise Sun."
"The Messy Team is full of avid skateboarders, so MessySkate was started out of great personal interest. If you can't have fun at work—what's the point, right? In 2019, we co-sponsered CPH OPEN, after which we put together a video showing off the skills of some of Denmark's best skaters"
