Courchevel Highlights Night Slalom
The Alpine ski season kicked off last weekend in Sölden, Austria, with the men's and women's giant slaloms of the Alpine Ski World Cup on October 26 and 27. A season that promises to be exceptional for Courchevel, the world capital of skiing, which will host three World Cups this year: Ski Mountaineering from December 12 to 15, Paraski on December 19 and 20, and finally women's Alpine skiing on January 30, 2025.
The flagship event of the start of the season in Courchevel, the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup, will take place this year on Thursday, January 30, 2025, a date moved in the FIS (International Ski Federation) calendar.
For this 14th edition, the Émile Allais stadium will once again be the scene of a night slalom, as it was last winter. This slalom has a particular importance for Courchevel, since it marked the return of the resort to the World Cup circuit in December 2010. The greatest skiers dream of winning this event and getting their hands on the iconic "Mademoiselle Courchevel" helmet, designed by the artist David Cintract. The competition will be intense between the Slovakian Petra Vlhova, victorious for the first time in Courchevel last winter, and the American star Mikaela Shiffrin, who already has six victories on the Émile Allais stadium.
