Courchevel - 14th Edition Of Art At The Summit: Lorenzo Quinn Solo Show
On the occasion of the 14th edition of Art au Sommet, the Galeries Bartoux, in collaboration with the town hall of Courchevel, wanted to highlight the works of an internationally renowned sculptor. After the Pyramids of Gizeh in Egypt, the canals of Venice and the great parks of London, the sculptures of Lorenzo Quinn are gaining height and will be exhibited for the first time in the heart of the Alps.
Defying gravity, poetic and true odes to Love, 7 monumental works by Lorenzo Quinn will sublimate the summits, the heart of the resort and the Galerie Bartoux Courchevel throughout the winter season.
The artist
Son of Oscar-winning actor Anthony Quinn, Lorenzo was born in 1966 in Rome. With his father, he discovered Catalan surrealist figures that attracted him and awakened his imagination. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in New York and a brief acting career, where he notably played Salvador Dalí, he devoted himself fully to his art.
Sculpting by observing the energy of life, Lorenzo Quinn's creative ideas spring quickly. He generally conceives each work in writing: a poetic text is associated with each of his projects.
Inspired by Michelangelo, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Auguste Rodin, the sculptures of this nature lover exhibited all over the world could not dream of a better setting than our mountains. His figurative artistic approach conveys his passion for eternal values and authentic emotions in powerful and monumental creations.
The genesis of the exhibition
Through his art, Lorenzo Quinn wishes to raise awareness of the beauty of nature and the need to preserve it. Strong values that we share with him and it is for all these reasons that it seemed obvious to us to devote a solo show to him. A deeply human man with a unifying message who will exhibit seven works on the emblematic spots of our station, converting it into a real open-air museum!
