Corvatsch Adds New Halfpipe To Winter Sports Portfolio And Celebrates Its Launch On February 24th, 2024

Corvatsch AG is proud to complement their freestyle offering this season with the launch of a new halfpipe. The most modern halfpipe of the world officially opens on February 24th. The halfpipe is - next to a variety of national and international events - also the venue for the eagerly awaited FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships St. Moritz Engadin in 2025 and it will be also used by many national teams for training purposes.

Halfpipe riding is most likely the supreme discipline of freestyle riding. Watching finals with the best halfpipe riders in the world is breath-taking and awes crowds regularly around the world. Halfpipes are rare though and Corvatsch now is one of the few resorts worldwide to offer a top-notch Superpipe meeting the highest international standards. The new halfpipe sits directly underneath Murtèl middle station on 2.700 m.a.s.l., is 180 meters long with a transition of 21 meters and 6,8 m high walls. The first preparations started already in September 2022, with Eco Alpin SA in charge of the construction. Right now, Kobi Würsch, head of the Corvatsch freestyle area, and Carlo Rusterholz from Rusti Design GmbH, are putting hands on the pipe with their teams to build and shape it and get it ready for its first season.

On Saturday, Feb. 24th, halfpipe riders from the past, the presence and the future will all gather at Corvatsch for the official inauguration of this prestige project of Corvatsch AG. Facts and numbers as well as taken measures for the environment will be shared. Riders will drop in for the very first time into the halfpipe which will shine in pride for the opening. Spectators are very much welcome.
