This World Cup event will feature the best athletes on the World Cup circuit in their first North American competition of the season. Copper is the Official Training Center for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team and will host the event in the resort’s 22-foot Superpipe in Center Village. New this year, Copper Mountain will play host to a new X Games event that is scheduled to take place during Grand Prix. More details about the new partnership will be announced soon. Copper will also host up-and-coming amateur freestyle athletes for the U.S. Revolution Tour in halfpipe and slopestyle comps on Jan. 13-17.

In the new year, skiers and riders are encouraged to check out Copper’s staple events like Safetyfest happening Jan. 25 and 26, and Subaru Winterfest featuring free live music, a lively vendor village and swag giveaways, on Feb. 21-23. The IFSA Freeride World Qualifier and Junior Freeride events for big mountain competitors will happen in Copper Bowl in February, and the USASA National Championships in April will welcome young athletes from across the country to compete in slopestyle, halfpipe, rail jam, boarder/skier cross and slalom events.

The resort will welcome several reoccurring events throughout the season, including our free Copper Live music performances in Center Village. The series is scheduled to take place on Jan. 25, Feb. 15, March 8 and end with the Copper Cup on April 12.

Copper’s mid-mountain lodge, Aerie, which debuted last season, will be activated in new ways this winter with after hour events including sunset skis and specialty dinners. More information about Aerie events will be shared soon.

Copper will wind down the season with spring events including Sunsation and Slush Rush. Sunsation, the annual end of season snow dance will include a free concert performance on April 26 and 27. Slush Rush invites guests to participate in a one-of-a-kind team relay event on May 3. Skiers and riders alike are welcome to join in teams of three to compete in a relay race that combines navigating around gates in the superpipe, flying through banked turns in a cross course and tackling a jump and rail before launching into an ice-cold pond skim.
