Copper Mountain Celebrates Spring With An Action-Packed Lineup Of Events

Spring skiing is just around the corner, and Copper Mountain’s event lineup begins to heat up with returning favorites like Subaru WinterFest and Sunsation, as well as new pond skim events designed to thrill and chill. 

On March 11-13, the annual Subaru WinterFest returned to Copper, featuring free live music, winter sports, Subaru swag, food and fun. The one-of-a-kind music and mountain lifestyle tour makes its way back to Copper with free live music performances around the mountain and in Eagle’s Landing in Center Village throughout the weekend. The Kind Hearted Strangers kicked off the festival with a main stage performance on Friday at 4 p.m.

New this season, Red Bull Jump & Freeze will make a splash in Copper’s Center Village on April 16. Adventuresome skiers and riders are invited to don their most exciting outfits and launch themselves into a pool of icy cold water in front of an on-looking crowd. Ambitious pond skimmers ages 18 and up can register to participate in Jump & Freeze for free. Registration will be made available soon at CopperColorado.com

Copper Mountain’s annual closing weekend celebration, Sunsation presented by 10 Barrel, returns April 22-24. With free live performances from American Authors at 5 p.m. on Friday and Letters to Cleo at 5 p.m. on Saturday, the wrap up on the season is a chance for skiers and riders to take in the best of Copper. Weekend revelers can win swag throughout the weekend by participating in stein hoisting contests or they can vie for a new set of Nokian Tyres with the Green Tire Giveaway happening on Sunday. Be the first to find the Green Tyre on the mountain by following clues posted to Copper’s Instagram Story.  

Sunsation festivities continue with 10 Barrel Hella Hectic on April 23. The event will take place in Center Village with participants racing against other eager competitors through a cross-style course into a pond skim in the village. Qualifiers for the event will happen on April 22 with the main event taking center stage on April 23. Skiers and riders ages 18 and older are invited to sign up to participate in the event for free. Registration will be made available soon at CopperColorado.com.  

In addition to Copper’s large-scale spring events, the resort is hosting Copper Live on March 19 with a free live music performance from The Evolution and on April 16 with music from The Alcapones. Copper will also close out the final two races of the Mammut Uphill Race Series on March 19 and the Copper Cup on April 15.
