Communications Director Jenny Wiedeke Bids Farewell To FIS
After nearly 12 years at the helm of the communications department at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), Jenny Wiedeke is leaving the organisation on April 30th.
Leading the 10-member team of Media Coordinators, Jenny oversaw both the corporate and event-related communications efforts for FIS. Throughout the years she was the point person for FIS communications, which included of hundreds of World Cup events, dozens of World Championships and three Olympic Winter Games.
Her contributions to FIS extended beyond traditional communication as she oversaw several other initiatives that spanned a wide spectrum. She championed the FIS sustainability initiatives and shaped the organisation’s digital landscape during her first decade with FIS.
Notably, she also spearheaded the FIS Athletes’ Commission, helping to increase the athletes’ voice within FIS. She also actively participated in several good governance projects, most notably, the FIS Gender Equity ‘High Five’ plan to help foster inclusivity and fairness.
Jenny’s legacy at FIS is one of dedication and unwavering commitment to the world of winter sports. As she takes the next step forward, FIS wishes her the very best.
