Coming Soon To Sunshine Village Super Angel, Luxury Heated Chairlift
Dedicated to offering unparalleled skiing and snowboarding experiences, Banff Sunshine Village is home to North America’s first EVO 6-passanger, high-speed, heated chairlift – ready winter 2024/25!
Partnering with Leitner-Poma Of America, the new Super Angel will feature cutting-edge EVO premium technology, eliminating the need for a traditional gearbox, offering a smoother, quieter ride.
Banff Sunshine Village introduced their first heated, bubble chairlift in 2014, Teepee Town LX, making Banff Sunshine Village home to 2 heated chairlifts from its fleet of 9 totaling chairs.
Super Angel will be complete with cozy bucket seats, footrests, and a stylish yellow bubble cover. In collaboration with Leitner-Poma, the Super Angel will feature the latest EVO premium technology, which eliminates the traditional gearbox for a smoother, faster and quieter ride.
"Last 2023/24 winter, we bid farewell to the iconic quad Angel Express. The original, 2-seater Angel was built in the 1960’s, and in 1988, Banff Sunshine introduced its first high-speed quad chair. Angel Express was the game-changer of the Canadian Rockies, as one of the first high-speed chairs in Canada, setting a new standard for the ski and snowboard industry in North America!"
After a remarkable 35 years of service, Angel’s last flight was on May 12th, 2024, at Banff Sunshine, and construction on the new Super Angel began the very next day.
"In our commitment to environmental sustainability, the deconstructed Angel Express has been transported to the neighboring Castle Mountain Resort in southern Alberta, where it will continue its legacy as Castle Mountain’s first high-speed chairlift."
