Combined Glory For British Alpine Skiers At World Para Snow Sports Championships
Britain’s medal tally at the World Para Snow Sports Championships in Lillehammer rose to six on the sixth day of competition, with a gold and two silvers in the Alpine Super Combined races.

23-year-old PyeongChang Paralympic Games medallist Millie Knight (guided by Brett Wild) added to her bronze in Saturday’s Super-G race with Super Combined gold, as part of a British 1-2 that saw Menna Fitzpatrick take silver (guided by Katie Guest), with just 0.52s separating the British pair. Sara Choi of South Korea took bronze, 5.92s behind Knight’s winning time of 2:12.10.
In the men’s VI class, Neil Simpson (guided by brother, Andrew Simpson) took silver in an impressive display of racing for the Banchory born skier, coming in 0.9s behind France’s Hyacinthe Deleplace, guided by Valentin Giraud-Moine, with Slovakia’s Misoslav Haraus (and guide, Maros Hudik) rounding out the podium in bronze medal position.
The opening days of the World Para Snow Sports Championships saw Shona Brownlee mark her debut at the World Championships with Super-G silver, and James Barnes-Miller take Dual Banked Slalom snowboard bronze, in addition to Millie Knight’s earlier Super-G bronze.
