Choirs Meet In Brixental From June 16th To 19th,
After the Woodstock of brass bands and the Int. Music band meeting is now the next step in the Brixental music calendar: From June 16th to 19th, Kirchberg will be at the Int. Choral society meeting for the stage of the choirs. But there are also all sorts of things to do with the concert rounds of the participating groups on these days, such as the traditional celebration of Corpus Christi.
Almost 20 groups from Austria, Germany and Switzerland will let their voices ring out as part of the four-day singing club meeting in Brixental. The repertoire ranges from classic folk songs to current pieces from the pop and rock directions. In addition to local singing groups, the "Shanty Choir Aft Diek of the Wetzlar Marine Comradeship" is also on board, which has already demonstrated its skills in several radio broadcasts.
A highlight to start with: the Antlassritt
A handicraft and farmer's market in the center of Kirchberg, which opens its doors at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, marks the start of the musical get-together. At 1 p.m., the Kirchberg music band invites you to a concert on the village square, before around 2 p.m. around 80 riders on their decorated horses parade through the streets on the traditional Antlassritt - a custom that has been maintained in Brixental for over 300 years and on Corpus Christi day with a impressive procession knows how to impress locals and guests alike. The riders from Brixen, Westendorf and Kirchberg meet in front of the parish church in Brixen to ride along the main road to the chapel in Klausen in Kirchberg. They will be accompanied by the Kirchberg and Aschau music bands.
At 4 p.m. in Kirchberg, the brass band will once again set the tone – the Aschau brass band will give a concert. At 5 p.m. it is time for the choirs to accept singing formation for the first time. After the official welcome, the more than 250 singers who have traveled will perform a song together.
The night of the choirs in the parish churches of Kirchberg and Brixen
On Friday at 10 a.m., the participating groups will go on a guided hike to mountain inns and alpine huts, where there will be singing and music in a cozy get-together. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the choral societies then perform on the village square in Kirchberg, before the next highlight at 8 p.m. in the parish church of Kirchberg and Brixen: the night of the choirs. Twelve choirs will sing their songs there from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday starts at 9 a.m. with a Holy Mass in the parish church of Kirchberg, including musical accompaniment. From 10:30 a.m., the singing groups can be heard again at the festival on the village square before they bid farewell on Sunday. So friends of good form know where the best address is from June 16th to 19th.
