Celebrate The End Of Another Beachin’ Ski Season With A Party At Afton Alps

Spring Fling Beach Bash is a great way to say goodbye to winter — Sat. March 10, 2018
WHAT: Not everyone is happy to see winter come to a close — for those who want to get one last winter hurrah in, Afton Alps is throwing an epic end-of-season party.

Spring Fling Beach Bash will feature games on the runs, live, outdoor fireside music by Five Minute Major and lots of other fun activities — including the extremely popular 10,000 Lakes Rail Jam, as well as a “Hot Dog” style Mogul Mash and an Obstacle Course. Take part or just watch the fun!

Boarders and skiers can team up to join the scavenger hunt and all visitors can register for a drawing to take part in the Dough in the Snow contest—where 50 lucky diggers will have a chance to unearth (or un-snow?) some cash money!

Those over 13 are welcome to test their skills in the much-anticipated, almost-annual Water Skip run – but come early, because registration is limited! And skiers, boarders and spectators alike will appreciate the special outdoor bar and food truck featuring perfect picnic fare, brats & dogs.

WHEN: Sat., March 10, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Lift tickets are $58 for adults, $53 for children and seniors. Rent skis or a snowboard for an additional $21. Tickets are available through the Afton Alps website and are good until the park closes at 9:30 p.m.

WHO & WHERE: Afton Alps, a winter adventure destination for generations of Minnesotans, is nestled in the scenic St. Croix River Valley, less than a 30-minute drive from the Twin Cities. It offers nearly 300 skiable acres, 51 trails, 17 lifts and four terrain parks. Minnesotans who haven’t visited in the last few years will be in for a surprise: after being purchased by Colorado-based Vail resorts, this sprawling resort poured $10 million into re-imagining the guest experience with refreshed base area facilities, a powerful state-of-the-art snowmaking system and cutting-edge terrain park designs.
