Carezza Dolomites Focuses On Gentle Mobility: Six Employees On The Move With E-Bikes
Carezza Dolomites presented its 2023 greenhouse gas balance two months ago. turn to zero – a community of several companies that wants to promote effective climate protection – recommends that Carezza Dolomites invest in clean technologies in 2024 in order to further reduce emissions and optimize employee mobility. A recommendation that the team led by Managing Director Florian Eisath followed with a next step. Six employees accepted an offer from the company and purchased a top-equipped e-bike, which they use both for the way to work and in their free time.
Carezza Dolomites has killed two birds with one stone with its interesting e-bike initiative in collaboration with the bike manufacturer "Ghost". On the one hand, the company has succeeded in further improving its own greenhouse gas balance. On the other hand, the ski and hiking area is investing in the health and fitness of its employees.
"Ghost was accommodating to us in terms of price when purchasing the bikes. We paid part of the purchase price, and the employees paid the rest. But the e-bike belongs to the employees. We are pleased that the initiative has met with great interest in our team and that six employees have ultimately made use of it. Getting around with an e-bike is environmentally friendly and it is healthy," emphasizes Florian Eisath, who was a ski racer in the World Cup for a long time and is also an enthusiastic biker himself.
The employees of Carezza Dolomites, who are now the happy owners of a Ghost e-bike, are also enthusiastic. "The e-bike definitely has many advantages. We ride the e-bike to work, but we can also use it privately, it belongs to us," says Justine Robatscher from Tiers am Rosengarten. "It's also environmentally friendly and saves money that you would otherwise have spent on fuel. I live in Tiers and it only takes me two minutes longer to get to work at the valley station of the Cabrio cable car in St. Zyprian with the e-bike than with the car. So it makes no difference in terms of time."
Start the working day with sport
Robatscher's colleague Philipp Thurner from Deutschnofen not only uses the e-bike to get to work, but is also looking forward to using the new vehicle privately. "Here in the Eggental valley, we have unlimited opportunities to have fun on our bikes. It would take several years to have ridden all the routes. I have already planned one or two bike tours," says Thurner happily. "Another big advantage is certainly the mental aspect. Since I have been cycling to work, I have been even more motivated. I have already done something before I start work, exercised. When you drive a car, you are more stressed because of the traffic. Even when I drive home after work, I feel better because I have ended the working day with exercise."
Carezza Dolomites will continue to strive to improve its own greenhouse gas balance in the spirit of turn to zero and to further reduce emissions. It will be interesting to see what actions the management will come up with for the future.
