Buff Partners With Surfrider Foundation On New Collection
BUFF, a world leader in headwear and neckwear for outdoor enthusiasts, announces its new collection with Surfrider Foundation andSurfrider Foundation Europe.
Designed by Cornwall-based artist Gemma Lessinger, this collection aims to help raise awareness and drive change so the ocean can be enjoyed by future generations. BUFF has been a longstanding advocate for the environment, and as part of their DO MORE NOW program, which is focused on taking initiative for people and planet-related causes, BUFF will be donating 10% of sales from the collection to support Surfrider’s mission to protect the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches for all people.
"This partnership with Surfrider Foundation is such a natural fit – we are two groups of people who are passionate about protecting the ocean and the environment," said David Camps, Chief Executive Officer at BUFF. "We hope this collection will inspire people to get outside, do their part, and support impactful organisations like Surfrider."
Surfrider Foundation is an organisation dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves, and beaches for all people through a powerful activist network. Since the 80's, they have been working to reduce the quantity of waste entering the marine environment through community education and empowerment, beach cleanup events, and advocating for stronger policy protections for our environment.
The blue-toned collection features six pieces, all with detailed ocean graphics. There are four variations of the CoolNet UV neck gaiter, a 100% organic cotton knitted beanie, and a 5-panel Go Cap with contrasting colorways. All are designed by Gemma Lessinger and made at BUFFs headquarters in Barcelona, using 100% renewable energy.
"Surfrider EU is pleased to begin this meaningful collaboration with BUFF and Surfrider US. We share BUFF's desire to protect our common playground, the ocean. We're also aligned with the brand's values and its desire to produce more responsibly, with 90% of its production made in Europe”- Raphaëlle Genoud, Corporate Partnerships Manager.
To celebrate the partnership, the team at BUFF and Surfrider hosted a pedestrian and paddle clean-up near their headquarters in Barcelona on May 7th. In addition to the passionate advocates from Surfrider, BUFF showed up with suppliers, ambassadors, employees, and like-minded B Corp companies to aid in the clean-up mission.
This collaborative effort is a testament to the shared commitment of both BUFF and Surfrider to promote environmental stewardship and community engagement. By bringing together individuals and organizations dedicated to sustainability, this event aims to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our coastal areas clean and litter-free.
