Bring Children To The Snow Surpasses 10’000 Events And Actions
Bring Children to the Snow has been reaching milestones steadily over its lifetime. In 2014, the campaign surpassed 1’000 events and actions. Then only year later, 2’000 events and actions. However SnowKidz has now reached a new milestone with over 10’000 events and actions.
On the 6th August 2023, Equipe Sci e Snowboard School completed their Festa Degli Scoiattoli events in Falcade (ITA) and in doing so became the 10’000th SnowKidz event. “There is clear commitment from the global snow sports community to bring a new generation to snow sports.” said Bring Children to the Snow Coordinator Andrew Cholinski.
Across its two programmes, SnowKidz and World Snow Day, Bring Children to the Snow has seen innovative but impactful actions to bring new kids to skiing and snowboard. Some examples include:
· Nationwide tours in Sweden, Finland, Germany, Portugal and the USA with free ski lessons in schools.
· Free lift passes for kids in resorts throughout Japan, Canada, Norway and Austria.
· Free ski and snowboard lessons to kids in celebration of World Snow Day
· Kids open days or snow festivals in China, Australia, Romania, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Cyprus, Greece and more
· Miniature ski resorts being built in cities in Croatia, Canada and Switzerland.
The list goes on and on.
To help facilitate these actions, FIS has been supporting Organisers with materials, best practices, financial support, communication, certification and more. Over the coming years FIS will continue to introduce new tools to hopefully reach 20’000 events and actions as quickly as possible.
Finally, FIS would like to thank all the Organisers, partners, fans, supporters and most importantly participants. Without you this milestone would not have been possible.
